B.v.ll'STINE WEATIIKKFOKD Area senior citizens and others who attended the noon meal at the Heppner Senior Mealsitelast Wednesday got a surprise along with the reg ular weekly meal. As Olendor is drove and Frances Samp son, two Pendleton musicians, were getting settled at the piano and the drums. Morrow County Deputy Sheriff Bob Cannon hurried into the dining room waving a pair of hand cuffs, rushed up to Mrs. Sampson, and announced that he was sorry but he would have to take her with him. Deputy Cannon seemed stern and Frances Sampson looked flustered. However, soon there was laughter, smiles and a fond embrace while the lady drummer ex plained that Bob Cannon is her nephew and that she had alerted him that she and Glen- rlnri M'nuld be nwfnrminn nl the mealsite. Deputy, Cannon said he really did want to take her home with him. but without handcuffs. The two talented women perform often in Pendleton and other locations. They were dressed alike in sheer blouses and pleated blue skirts. Their lively music had everyone tapping toes before the meal was served. Alter dinner, the musicians invited folks to dance in the aisles. About half a dozen couples responded and the mealsite 'began to sound and look a bit like a dance hall. One of the most pleased persons attending last week was Tommy Steagall who comes quite regularly to the meals with his mother, Anna Mae. Iist week the Steagall's daughter. Vicki. came with them as she was here visiting from Tulsa. Oklahoma. Tom my danced a little with his Plans are underway for annual 4-H camp of the .
