The following students were chosen winners; - Division III, Grades 10-12: Michelle Aaron of Heppner High, a senior, placed first; John Moyer, also of Heppner, a sophomore, placed second; and Robin Haws of Riverside tied with Ann McLaughlin of Heppner for third place. In division II, grades seven through nine; Renee Struthers of Lexington, placed first. She is a freshman at Heppner High; Trina Palmer, an eighth grader at Heppner Junior High, placed second. Division I winners were Terri Meyers of Sam Board man Elementary School. This was Terri 's third consecutive year of winning in the contest. Shannon McLaughlin of Hep pner Elementary School took second place and Angela Hicks of A C. Houghton took third. All winners in division I are in the sixth grade. The first place winners in the district-wide spelling con test will compete in a state spelling contest to be held during the state fair late next summer.
