"Old Ymir's Clay Pol" will be (ho focus of the Good Friday worship service sponsored by the South Morrow County Ministerial Association. The Service is hosted by the lone United Church of Christ, at 7:30 on Friday. April 9. stated the Rev. Cathy Barker. On Good Friday. Christians commemorate the crucifixion Friendslup Baptist The Friendship Baptist Church, now meeting at the Heppner Neighborhood Cen ter, will be holding the 'following activities Sunday, April 11: First Christian Easter Program The Pre-Easter meeting continues this week at the First Christian Church in Heppner with Brother Lee Turner preaching each even ing, reported a spokesperson. His messages will center on the topic of prophecy and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The following titles will give some idea of what he will be dealing with in the coming days of the meeting. Wednes day: Prophecies concerning the Charismatic Movement; Thursday: The Definitive Bat Hep, Egg Hunt this Sat. The annual Heppner Egg Hunt sponsored by the Elks Club will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. April 10. The Elks ask that preschool age child ren meet at the Librarv- Nazarene Church The Nazarene Church of Christ will begin East er morning. April 11. with a breakfast at 9 a.m. New cap printing machine at the Shoe Box 4- err. - , jL.. J L : 1 Jerry Hollomon demonstrates his new cap printing machine at the Shoe Box in Heppner. The machine, which arrived last week, makes personalized caps by transferring letters and prepared messages on to the front of the cap. There are eight colors in caps "for starters" and several transfers. "It will do well with our T-shirts," said Hollomon, "I think it (the cap printing machine) will do T-shirt sleeves too." Topic sale a success The lone Topic Club held a successful food sale and Flea Market on Tuesday afternoon in the Legion Auxiliary dining room, reported a Topic Club spokesperson. Pie and coffee were also served all afternoon. Easter Activities From 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. the men of the church will be serving Easter breakfast. At 9a.m. thechildren will be having their Easter program. IUCC Holy Week The lone United Church of Christ will commemorate the events of Holy Week in a variety of worship exper iences, announced the Rev. Cathy Barker, pastor, this week. On Maundy Thursday. April 8. Christians remember the Last Supper of Christ and his .disciples. In an 8:00 p.m. worship service, the partici pants will receive Holy Com munion and hear the scrip tures describing Christ's Pas sion. Candles will be snuffed to represent the growing dark ness and sorrow of that time.
