Kaedene Hollomon, daughter of Jerry and Joyce Kay
Hollomon of Heppner and Kenneth Bailey , son of Dwight and
Janelle Bailey, also of Heppner, were married Saturday,
February 6 at the United Methodist Church In Heppner with
the Rev. Mike Sheridan officiating
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown,
made and worn by her mother, of moire taffeta with
additions of ambroidered lace overlays on the bodice and
train. Her long illusion net veil, also made by her mother,
was edged in lace Her underslip was trimmed in cotton lace
which was handmade and worn by her great grandmother,
Effie Peterson at her wedding She carried her mother's
Bible which was adorned with two white orchids and
forget-me-nots
Darcy Hollomon, sister of the bride w as maid of honor and
Bonnie Nix. Heppner and Barbara Ik-vine of Pendleton were
bridesmaids. Nancy Bailey, sister of the groom was flower
girl and Mark Moeller. Heppner, was ring bearer. Jess
Osmin and Rick Osrnin were candle lighters Bridesmaids
wore burgundy full length dresses and floral chiffon capes.
The maid of honor and flower girl wore pink full length
dresses with floral chiffon capes.
Best man was Chris Zita of Heppner. I'shers were Jeff
Bailey, brother of the groom and Doug Dougherty of
Wallowa
Wedding music was provided by Marty Baker and Tim
Hcdman, both of Heppner Accompanist was Carley Drake,
also of Heppner.
A wedding reception at the American Ugion Hall followed
the ceremoney.
Attending the gift table were Cinda Watt and Unda
Holloman. cousins of the bride, both of Hermiston, Rhonda
Quigley of Heppner attended the guest book.
Honored guests were the bride's great grandmother,
Hazel Harges, Portland, her grandmother, lxis Hollomon of
Milton Freewater, her grandparents. Mr, and Mrs. Edgar
Schroeder. Arizona; and the groom's grandparents. Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Bailfy of Heppner.
The couple, both graduates of Heppner High School, and he
of Blue Mt Community College, reside in the Butter Creek
area where Ken is farming with his father. Kaedene is
employed at Freddies salon in Hermiston

18, the Ackley Scholarship
Variety Stage Show played to
a good attendance on the stage
of Heppner High School.
Jim Ackley and a group of
the school's talented youth
performed an interesting var
iety of acts, sang popular
songs, spoofed several TV
shows and were rewarded by a
laughing, pleased audience
and. hopefully, a substantial
contribution to the scholarship
awards known as the Bill
Kenny Music Education
Award and the Bonnie Nix -John
Bier Outstanding Service
Award which are presented to
deserving graduating seniors
at the end of the school year.
Ackley hopes to help achieve
$1,000 for these awards.
The variety show began
with the Ackley composition
"A New Beginning" which
was sung to recorded accom
paniement. Then there was a
sXMif of TV announced as
"Corporal Hospital" ( down
grading of General Hospital")
which saw Ackley as Dr. John.
Marti Baker and Karen Kenny
sang several times with Ack
ley and performed a duet
novelty "Ride 'Em Cowboy."
Ackley as an anchorman
revealed several astounding
news items alout Heppner
High Several vocal items
were presented as solo, duet
and trio arrangements and a
second take-off of a TV soap
was "Fort Worth" instead of
"Dallas".
During one musical num
ber. "Moonlight Becomes
You." a threesome of big.
beautiful, female impersonat
ors. Damon Wilson. Greg Orr
and Tom Huston, added back
ground excitement.
When the entertaining var
iety acts were ended with an
everybody-on-stage finale,
producer-performer Ackley
made a sincere plea for
community support of schol
arship efforts.
Sign Language
to be offered
from BMCC
Beginning Sign Language
will be added to the listing of
spring term classes scheduled
for the south Morrow County
area, according to Nancy
Brownfield. Blue Mountain
Community College class co
ordinator for the Heppner
area
The class will begin Wednes
day. March 31. at the l'xing
(on School boardroom. The ten
week class will meet from 7 to
9 pm. at a cost of $26. Carol
Faith will be the instructor.
Sign language will be taught
both to interested members of
the public and to school
teachers who use it in their
classrooms in this new course,
said a BMCC spokeswoman.
There is no class enrollment
limit, she continued.
Those interested in signing
up for the class should call
Mrs. Brownfield at 676-5039 or
attend the first class meeting.
