Road Report
The Morrow County Public
Works Department has releas
ed the following Work Report
for the week ending February
13 and 20:
During the past two weeks,
pot holes were patched with
cold mix on the following
roads: Ione-Boardman, Bren
ner Canyon, Balm Fork,
Baseline, Boardman-Irrigon,
Root Lane, Patterson Junction
and the Irrigon-Ordinance
Road.
Roads bladed and graveled
were: Juniper and Doherty
Alpine. Bladed only were:
Eubanks Road, N-S Morgan
Road, Albert Lindstrom Road,
and the Baker E-W Road.
Culverts were cleaned and
brush burned on Kunze Road
and French Road.
Reflectors were replaced on
Eighth St. in Irrigon and trees
and stumps were removed
from the right of way on
Cemetery Road and Washing
ton Street.
Extensive ditching and
shoulder work on the Clarks
Canyon Road has been a
major project. Shoulder work
was also done on the Paul
Brown Road.
Frost heaving has been a
major problem on the oiled
roads the past two weeks.
"Everyone's cooperation is
needed during these times as
one heavy load on a soft road
can cause several thousand
dollars damage per mile.
Please ovserve the posted
limits on the roads, so the
damage can be kept to a
minimum, which will greatly
reduce our future mainten
ance costs," said a Public
Works Dept. spokesperson.
The road maintenance crew
will return to the four 10 hour
day schedule on March 1. The
road shop will be closed on
Fridays but the office will
remain open Monday through
Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
