Delphi Jones 989-8189 The residents of Lexington would like to thank those rcuponHifolc for the fine Christmas tree and decora tions at city hall and to all thoftc who took the time to decorate their homes, and the streets to give the city of Lexington a festive look. Several local citizens had the misfortune to be in hoxpitals during the holidays. Floyd Borman the city of Lexington's maintenance man Is in St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland, having undergone major heart surgery. Kenneth Peck is a patient in Good Samaritan Hospital. Beecher Emert of lone is also in a Portland hospital, having undergone major heart sur gery. Mr. Emert was taken to Portland by his niece Mary Kilkenny. Lexington Grange held a regular meeting on Monday evening, starting with a tur key potluck dinner, followed by a shower for the grange kitchen. State officers were nominated and the business of the evening followed. An auditing committee consisting of Kenneth Smouse, Lyle Peek and Gene Majeske was ap pointed, and it was announced thut the supper committee for the January meeting will include men of the grange with Lyle Peck, Norman Nelson and Cecil Jones in charge. Pins were presented to Philip and Doug Marquardt and Josie and Glover Peck. Pluns were discussed by the building committee to work during cold winter days on the inside of the grange building Carols led by Rena Marqunrdt were sung and special music was provided by Philip Mar quardt and Doug Marquardt. A reading was given by Charlene Papineau. A game, "Whut you got for Christmas last year," was played and the meeting wub adjourned. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buch anan spent the Christmas holiduys in the Portlund area. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Yocum were Pendleton visitors on Saturday where they attended a program at a school for preschoolers and wulched their small granddaughter perform. They also visited with their daughters Debbie Jones and family and Marie. Holly Kebekah Lodge en joyed a potluck dinner includ ing turkey and dressing with members and friends on Thursday evening. Following the dinner, there were treats for the children of popcorn bulls and candy canes, and the members and guests enjoyed pinochle. There were five tables present. The card party at the Lexington Grange Hall on Dec. 19 was well attended. There were prizes given and refreshments served. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mounts of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Mounts and children of Boardman and Mr. and Mrs. W. Wright of Woodburn were among those from out of town to attend the Wright-Johnson wedding. Vicky Bowen and children of Hermiston visited on Saturday at the C.C. Jones home with Churlene Whitney, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Whitney and Jessie and Frank Wilcox. Franklin Messenger and children of Springfield visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Messenger Sr. over the holi days. Visiting on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Connor and family of Hep pner. On Christmas Day, Mr. and Mrs. Kondy Hughes enter tained the families of Betty Marquardt, and Ma jo Hughes with a dinner. Later in the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Messenger and Franklin and family visited at the Hughes home. Norita, Charma, Doug and Philip Marquardt and Paula Martin of Oregon City were Christmas visitors at the Bill B. Marquardt home. Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Ruhl had the following guests over the holidays: Mable Gray and Florence of Heppner, Mr. and Mrs. Skip Ruhl and family of Hermiston, Dick Ruhl and son Rick of Roseburg, Fran Wong of Portland and John Robert son and Mario Vala of Bend Mr. and Mrs. Roger Camp bell had the following Christ mas guests: Mr. and Mrs IRoy Nash of Pendleton, Dave Campbell of LaGrande, and Mr, and Mrs. Bill Bloods worth and family of Hermis ton, and Eula Bloodsworth of Lexington. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Pad berg had as Christmas visi tors, daughter Jill Perkins and ; . her son, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Padberg and children and Catie Padberg, Lee's mother. Mr, and Mrs. Burke O'Brien of Heppner entertained the following on Christmas Day: Her parents, Mr. and Mrs,. Gene Majeske of Lexington and brother Don of Deer Park; Freda Majeske, Pat Wright and Sandi; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Marshall; and Mr. and Mrs. W. Wright of Woodburn, who were visiting at the Pat Wright home. A surprise birthday party was enjoyed by Delpha Jones on Tuesday evening when several of her friends surpris ed her with a birthday dinner , and an evening of visiting at the Dodge City Restaurant In Boardman. Those attending were Linda and Kenneth Jones, Charles and Joyce Buchanan, George Irvin, Lyle and Virginia Peck, Josie and Glover Peck and Cecil Jones, Delpha 's husband. Mr. and Mrs. Glover Peck were delightfully surprised when their daughter Martha and husband Mr. and Mrs. Hon Ward and three children along with Mike Peck who makes his home with them, arrived from Juneau, Alaska for a Christmas visit. Other members of the family pre sent during the holidays were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Tucker of Salem, Bill Peck of Pendleton, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Peck and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Peck, and Dennis Peck and fiancee Debbie of Pendleton. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Peck returned home on Mon day from a visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hawk of Medford. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hall and daughter Jodi, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Holliday and sons of Portland and Elmer Pieper of Hermiston were dinner guests of Erda Pieper on Christmas Day.
