The Heppner Mustangs put
a damper on the Wuhtonka
Eagles' enthusiasm as the
Mustangs handed the Eagles
their first loss of the season.
The Mustangs, now the only
Undefeated team of the Colum
bia Itasin Conference defeated
the Eagles 13-0. last Friday
night.

During the fourth quarter
Holland struck again as he

his stuff, intercepted an Eagle
pass.
All the while the Eagles
couldn't quite get their offense
into first gear. When they did
get it moving the Mustangs
bowling league to begin Nov. 7

penalties for 27 yards.

tangs in rushing with 16
carries for 90 yards, followed
by Holland with 16 carries for
78 yards. Earl Hammond also
contributed 55 yards on 14
carries.

Heppner is now ranked
fourth in the state Class A poll,
but may move up due to Scio's
loss. Heppner will try to move
higher in the poll as they take
on Wasco County next Friday
at Maupin.

Fillies trample lone

Heppner Fillies trampled
lone on Oct. 1 to bring their
win-lose record to 3 and 2.
Early in the week the Fillies
defeated Riverside on their
home court 15-12, 15-8.
In the first game against the
Cardinals, the Fillies won with
ease, 15-6. Sherry Clement
was high scorer with six
points. Many good plays were
made by Sheri McMinn and
Michelle Aaron.
The second game of the set
was a battle, but the Fillies
came out ahead 15-10. High
server was Dawna Devin with
10 points. Sheri McMinn
brought in the other five points
to make the Fillies the
winning team.
On Tuesday. September 29,
the Fillies faced the Riverside
Pirates. The Fillies defeated
Riverside on their home court
15-12 and 15-8. The J.V. and C
team girls did not come home
with victories. Anne Murray
of the Fillies was high scorer
with seven points the first
game. In the second game,
Elizabeth Zita and Anne
Murray combined to make the
most points.
. The Fillies next game is
scheduled for Tuesday Oct
ober 13 against lone on Iones'
home court. The next home
game is Saturday, October 17
with Sherman County.

Monday. October 12. for six
days. Intercollegiate rodeo
stars will compete In four
performances on opening
weekend, October 10 and 11.
Rodeo events will include
bareback riding, steer roping,
steer wrestling, saddle bronc
riding, team roping, and bull
riding.
Rodeo events will be Inter
spersed with horse show
events and special events such
as sheep dog trials and calf
scrambles.
Rodeo-horse show times
are: 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. on
Saturdays and Sunday, and at
7:30 on weekdays.
