The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of lace and organza with lace applique accents and a beaded li tin uti uic vuctn muic ncvMiiic wiui a ciuf pel leiigui iram. She wore a matching .headpiece and carried a bouquet of white roses and baby blue carnations. Connie McLaughlin, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Debra Heimbigner, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Both wore blue gowns of cotton lace and organza with spaghetti straps and pleated lace jackets. They each carried a single white rose accented with baby's breath. Jennifer Burkenbine, niece of the bride was flower girl. She wore a blue organza dress and carried three baby blue . carnations. Jim Stiles, Walla Walla, and Augustine De La Rossa Jr., also of Walla Walla were groomsmen. Allen Burkenbine, Heppner, brother of the bride and Rod Shelton were ushers. Wedding music was provided by Jim Ackley and Lottie Laughlin, both of Heppner. "Longer" and "Always and Forever" were performed during the ceremony. A wedding reception was held in the Fireside Room of the church. Pouring punch and coffee were Vicki Edmundson and Toshi Anderson. Jeanie Wallingford, aunt of the groom and Marlene Gray, aunt of the bride, served cake. Attending the gift table were Terri and Vicki Wallingford and Jean Clark was in charge of the guest book. After the reception, a going away party was held in honor of the couple at the home of the grooms parents. After a wedding trip to Victoria B.C., the couple is at home in Walla Walla. The bride is a graduate of Heppner High School and Walla Walla Community College. She is presently employed at St. Mary's Hospital, Walla Walla. The groom is a graduate of Walla Walla High School. He is presently attending Walla Walla Community College and is employed at Tommy's Dutch Lunch, Walla Walla. Sheridans to be honored at reception Sept. 20 Everyone is cordially invited to join with the members of the congregation of the Heppner United Methodist Church in welcoming their pastor's wife, Linda Sheriday at a reception for the couple on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 10:30 a.m. until 1 ' p.m. in the church basement. Rev. Sheridan and the former Linda Briggs from Hillsboro were married on Aug. 15 in the chapel at Camp McGruder on the Oregon Coast and then traveled to California on their wedding trip. Linda taught at Hill High for 10 years and Rev. Sheridan was assistant minister at the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro before coming to Heppner. The United Methodist Women will be hostesses for the reception. Remaining in the hospital as of Monday. Sept. 14 was: Anna Bergstrom. lone. Obituaries - Nek Peter 'Pete' Skow HEPPNER Nels Peter "Pete" Skow, 4. died Satur day. Sept. 5, near Ketchikan, Alaska, in an airplane acci dent. He was born April 30, 1935. at Lapwai, Idaho, the son of Nels and Helen Skow. He lived in Lewiston and Moscow. Idaho, and was graduated from high school in Cheney. Wash. He served with the Army from 1953 to 1956. On March 22. 1958, he was married to Veva Marie Grov er, in Walla Walla. They lived at Roseburg and Eugene before moving to Heppner in 1973. Mr. Skow was owner and operator of Bark-n-Chips. for merly Chip A Way Transport. He was a member of the Heppner Masonic Lodge and the Heppner Elks Club. Survivors include a brother, John. Heppner; two sisters, Lucile Dorgan. Stevensville, Mont., and Nelda Rupp, Mil waukie. Ore. Veva Marie 'Eddi' Skow HEPPNER Veva Marie 'Eddi' Skow, 43. died Satur day. Sept. 5, near Ketchikan, Alaska, in an airplane acci dent. ' She was born Dec. 4, 1937. in Richland, Wash., the daughter of Ralph and Marion Grover. On March 22, 1958, she was married to Nels Peter Skow in Walla Walla. Mrs. Skow was a member of the United Methodist Church in Heppner, and the Willow Creek Country Club. She was the kindergarten teacher at the lone schools. Survivors include her par ents, at Helix ; three brothers, Donald Edwards, St. Jacobs, 111.; Wayne Edwards, Clair mont, Calif, and Raybum Edwards, Hawthorne, Calif.; and a half brother, Marvin Thompson, Fort Worth, Tex as. HEPPNER - Funeral ser vices for "Pete" and "Eddi" Skow were Monday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church, with the Rev. S. Michael Sheridan officiating. Musical selections were sung by Kathryn Hoskins, with Carley Drake as organ ist. Casket bearers were Tom Skow, Jim Jones, Jack Bailey, Boyd Gregory, Bob Lankford, Herman Winter, Tim Skow, David Rupp, Grant Smith, Glenn Cooper, Pat Patterson and Joe Gifford, M.D. Concluding services and interments were at Heppner Masonic Cemetery. In charge of arrangements was Sweeney Mortuary, Hep pner. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the United Methodist Church, Heppner. Monte D. Stookey HEPPNER - Monte D. Stookey, 43, died in an airplane accident Saturday, Sept. 5, near Ketchikan, Alaska. He was bom Oct. 28, 1937, in Wilbur, Wash., and attended schools at Sisters and Baker. Sharon L. Stookey, 42, died ' in an airplane accident Saturday, Sept. 5, near Ketchikan; Alaska. She was born, March-30, 1939, in Heppner, and was a graduate of lone High School and the University of Oregon. She was married to Monte D. Stookey on May 2, 1975 in Heppner. Mrs. Stookey was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Heppner and the Lexington Grange. She is survived by two sons, Andrew and Michael Gorman, Hepner; stepsons Michael and Kenneth Stookey, Heppner; stepdaughters Marcie and Kimberly Stookey, Ketch ikan: her mother, Gladys Munkers, and father, Orville Cutsforth, both of Heppner; five sisters, Dorothy Hawkins, Echo: Vesta Kilkenny Handy, Portland; Faye Uhlen, Ken newick, Wash.; Barbara Hud son, Hawthorne, Nev.; and Donna Cutsforth, Mosier, Ore.; four brothers, Pat Cutsforth and Fritz Cutsforth, both of Heppner; Kenneth Cutsforth, Davenport, Wash.I and Gene Heliker, Seattle, Wash. Recitation of the Rosary was 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10. at St. Patrick's. Officiating were Monsignor George Murphy and the Rev. S. Michael Sheridan.
