EIGHT-The Heppner Gaiette-Tlme. Three Links Club met at the home of Leila Palmer on Thursday for their regular meeting. Plans were discus sed for the benefit for Scott Groshens which is planned for Saturday night. June 27. A food sale will be held as well as a sandwich and salad supper, for $2 followed by a card party with prizes and desserts. This will be for donations only. Anyone wish ing to donate for this cause may send a check to Holly Rebekah Lodge. Plans were discussed for the sidewalk bazaar to be held in Heppner later in the month. This will be e baked goods table. Refreshments were ser ved to Ruth Robinson. Joyce Buchanan. Delpha Jones. Eula Bloodsworth. Virginia Peck, Dorothy Burcham and the hostesses. The next meet ing will be at the Jones' home. Holly Rebekah Lodge met for their regular meeting on Thursday evening with the Noble Grand Joyce Buchanan in the chair. The evening was spent practicing for degree work to be presented on Monday for the San Souci candidates. Following the meeting refreshments were served. This was the last meeting until the first Thurs day in Sept. which will start fall activities. Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Jones were Coos Bay visitors last week to attend the State Grange session. Mr. Jones attended the combined GMI and GIA insurance meetings on Monday and school for insurance agents on Tuesday. They attended the Committee on Women's activities break fast on Wednesday morning Area Soroptimists Clubs hold installations A regularly scheduled meeting of Soroptimists was held at the Wagon Wheel in Heppner at noon June 18. The program consisted of reports on the Northwest Regional Conference held in Anchorage and also various area meet ings held in Oregon. Installation of new officers of the Pendleton Club was held June 10. Local members in attendance were Gail Burken bine. Lenna Smith. Clista Venard, Joan McDonald. Jac kie Allstott. Marlene Peterson and Mary Goheen. On June 17 Marlene Gray, Gail Burkenbine. The names for the CWA scholarships were drawn and Morrow County delegates were pleased to hear JoJean Stevens had won one of the seven scholarships She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boh Stevens of Hardman. They returned home via Sprav and visited in the evening at the Gus Strecker home in Sprav Others from our area attend ing were Mr. and Mrs. Rerl Akers. and Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Cutsforth. The Culsforths re turned home on Satnrdav The Pomona Granue will meet at the Sprav Granee Hall on Saturdav June 27 at 10:30 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Rino harl of I'kiah were l.exingtnn callers. Thev took their daugh ters. Amber and Crvstal. home with them. The girls had been pulling rye for several days. The girls returned on Sunday for a longer stay at the home of an aunt and uncle. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Yocom. Also visiting at the Yocom home were their granddaughters. Jane and Brenda Jones, daughters of Debbie Jones of Pendleton. Gladys Van Winkle and Jan Edwards have returned home from an extended trip to Wyoming, Colorado. Idaho and Utah. They saw many interesting things - especially weather oriented sights. Thev visited the Mormon Temple at Salt Lake. The ladies were gone two weeks. Miss Ed wards makes her home in Pendleton where she is em ployed. the installation of new officers at the LaGrande Club. Installation of Heppner's new officers for 1981-82 will be held June 26 at the mountain home of the Burkenbines. The old structure, which was constructed ap proximately 25 years ago, collapsed recently due to the deterioration of the timber substructure.
