Upon the question of levying
a tax for the purpose of
funding the school district
budget .
NOTICE IS HEREBY
GIVEN THAT an election will
be held March 31. 1981
between the hours of 8 : 00 a.m.
and 8:00 p.m. The purpose of
the election is to submit a tax
levy to the voters for the
purpose of funding the school
district operating budget for
the 1981-82 school year.
Voters will be asked to
ballot on the amount of
Kl.rt04.830.oo which will be
partially funded by the state of
Oregon, and an amount of
$415,255.00 which will be
totally funded by the tax
payers of the district.
The purpose of the amounts
to be voted upon on both
ballots is to provide funds for
maintenance and operation of
the school district which
cannot be provided within the
districts tax base of

The total levy will result in
an estimated tax rate of $7 94
per f I. ono.OO of true cash
value, exclusive of the tax for
bonded indebtedness.

City Hall there will be a public
hearing before the Heppner
Common Council concerning
the adoption of a proposed
Ordinance providing for the
Issuance of Negotiable Water
Bonds of the City of Heppner,
Oregon, in the principal sum
of $430,000 oo for the purposes
of providing a portion of the
cost of constructing improve
ments to the Municipal Water
System and providing for the
collection, handling and dis
position of the revenues, and
authorizing and directing the
City Recorder to advertise for
written bids on said bonds and
declaring an emergency.

There were 49 buyers and 60 consignors representing six
counties at Thursday's market.
Market Trend: The market was up on all classes of cattle,
with some top quality consignments selling. The quality of
calves was a strong factor in the increase shown in the
market price. Steers were selling higher than we've seen
them for some time. Heifers showed a difference of $10.00 -$12.00
less than the steers of the same weight.
Next Sale: With 300 head of top quality calves, mostly
black baldys, consigned for the Thursday, March 12 sale, it
should be another strong market. Other consignments
