Telephone and face-to-face Phone book delivery to begin interviews will begin Mon day. February lfi. in the 10 counties of eastern Oregon to gather information for a resource file which could lead to more job training opportun ities for residents of the region. The survey, conducted by Eastern Oregon State College Continuing Education person nel for the Oregon State Employment and Training Council, is designed to identify employment training needs of people in the area, types of training now available, agencies now offering training and agencies or businesses wishing to provide or operate training programs. Continuing Education Director Dr. Douglas Tread way said there will be three different questionnaires, one for individuals, one for major industry representatives and one for community leaders. "We'll survey about 5.000 people altogether over the three week period." he said. "Ruilding this kind of file is important to the future of eastern Oregon: we hope people will cooperate," he said. "Once the information is gathered, planning for im proving can really begin. We can look at what we have and don't have and where, then we can decide whnt we need to better serve the industry we have and to attract the kind of industry the people of the region want."
