He will fill out the two year term of Ed Baker who was elected to the mayor's position in the Nov ember election. In other business, the coun cil discussed the problem of Anemometers to he installed for testing in Morrow County Several wind measuring devices, or anemometers, are scheduled to be installed at various locations around Mor row County in the near future, says Columbia Basin General Manager Fred Toombs. Three anemometers will be placed at windy locations in the couny in an effort by the Bonneville Power Administra tion to see if there is potential for electric-producing wind mills in this area. Heppner Chy Budget Com. to meet Tues. The Heppner City Budget Committee will meet for the first time next Tuesday night at 7:30 at city hall. The committee will receive the proposed 1981-82 budget document. Prior to the budget meeting a public hearing will be held for interested persons to speak as to how they feel the city should spend Federal Revenue Sharing Funds in the coming year. The hearing will start at 7 p.m. in city hall. Drugs stolen from Heppner doctor's office A break in Friday night at the office of Dr. Wallace Wolff. 117 W. Church St.. Heppner, has been reported to Heppner City Police. A quantity of drugs was taken, but the exact amount and type of drugs was not known. The thief or thieves gained entrance by using a crowbar to break through a basement window, say police. Harshman trial date, place set A trial date has been set on Feb. 25 in Umatilla for Floyd Everett Harshman in connection with the burglary of Murray Drugs in Heppner on Dec. 26, 1979. Harshman was granted a change of venue from Morrow County. Gty sells 1947 .grader The city of Heppner sold a 1947 Falion road grader last Tuesday night. The grader, in poor condi tion, would not operate, and had not been used for five years. The city had called for bids on the grader, and received tH'O. High bidder was Brent Curtis of Hermiston who bid $301. In other business, the city council: appropriated $308 of state grant money for the city library ; -accepted a $2,370 state grant for maintenance of the city's comprehensive plan. granted a request from the . No action was taken on the request. Morrow The Morrow County Fair Board, Fair Committee and Rodeo Committee have set the dates for this year's Morrow County Fair. The 4-H Horseshow is scheduled for August 22, Saturday, and the Wrangler's Open Class Horseshow, will be held the next day, August 23. The rodeo will start on Friday, Former lone man involved in US space shuttle A former lone resident and a 1955 graduate of lone High School, Sam Barnett, will be involved in the launching of the space shuttle, Lindsay Kincaid, lone, told the Gazette Times Monday. The classifieds are seeking a one year contract (they presently have a two-year), but the district wants a three-year agreement. In addition, the classified employees want a fair share telling a story of a club or organization's work for the community. Agencies are awarded special ribbons. Commercial exhibits are charged a small fee for space reservation. Deadline to complete booths this year is August 24 at 10 p.m. The fair building will be open for those who can work on their booths the week , before fair. August 28, and will run through Aug. 30. This year's theme is "Ex panding Horizons of the '80's,' and colors are red and white for those wishing to work on their booths, parade floats, the Portland Air Force Base. School budget hearing set A public hearing on the proposed 1981-82 Morrow County School District budget will be held next Monday night, Feb. 16, beginning at 7:30 p m. at Heppner Elemen tary School. Public comment on the proposed budget will be taken at this time.
