Ione's first touchdown of the game came when Denny Starr threw a 65-yard pass to Treve Peterson, who ran into the end zone. Starr again passed to Peterson for the extra points. Owner Al Pullins coined the name "Clownball" to describe his team's style of play. Through the years, the antics and shenanigans of his "fun loving" boys have brought them world-wide as well as national fame.
