Solar expert to present program at Condon A representative of Western SUN (Western Solar Utiliza tion Network), a federal department of energy pro gram to help foster solar power, will be at the Condon High School on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 7.:) p.m. in the multipurpose room. The pub lic Is invited to attend the presentation. John Steinkc, who Is from the Portland regional office, will present a slide show on the basic principles of Bolar energy and will also be avaiiuble to answer questions. Special emphasis will be on tax programs for solar power and small scale residential uses of solar power. Steir.ke, who has been deserilMNl "a real expert in his field," is also a consultant for private construction. Steinke will give a presen tation to Condon High School students the next day on future employment in the field of solar power, tie has also indicated that he will be vailable for individual up- lintments through the early afternoon on Wednesday, Nov. 2fi. HHS drama productions postponed The Heppner HiRh School Drama Club presentations of "Never Fear, Strongheart is Here," and Shakespeare's "As You Like It" have been cancelled, it was announced by directors Larry Cerullo and Jane Rawlins. The productions, which were scheduled for this Thursday and Friday, Nov. 20, j d 21, have been rescheduled Tor Monday night, Dec. 1. Sno-park permits on sale Sno-park permits for the KIHO-KI season are now on sale in Motor Vehicles Division field offices and in some winter sports stores and resort areas. This is the third year for the suo park permit program in Oregon. Permits are needed to park in designated and posted winter recreation areas in the state from Nov. 15 to April 30. Violators face a $10 fine. A daily permit sells again this year for $1, and an annual permit for $5. Winter sport enthusiasts are urged to get a permit now so they will be ready when enforcement begins on Nov. 15. Private businesses which act as agents for DMV in sellitfg the sno-parks may charge a fee for providing the service-ten cents for a daily permit and 25 cents for annual permits -in addition to the $1 or $5 charged by the state. Most winter recreation res orts, as well as many sporting goods stores, sell sno-park permits. Sno-park permit sales pro vide money for keeping winter recreation parking areas plowed out during the snow season. In 1979, sales of permits provided more than $.122,000 above expenses for the snow plowing program of the Highway Division. "The Wucky Weirdos of Willoughby Castle," an an imated film, will be shown, as well as a film strip about a mouse entitled "Charlie'H Cheddar Cheese," Popcorn will be provided during the films. And there will be Ice cream sundaes. Everyone gets to make his own. The party is one of Valby'i ways of saying thanks to God by saying thanks to old neighbors and hello to new neighbors, said Pastor John Maas. The party is for everyone. Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, so that the G-T staff may be with their families.
