Shafts of sunlight spotlight precious things from a bygone era, as the curator tells the story of each cherished item. It's quiet now, but it won't be for long. This weekend the 1980 Morrow Co-tv Fair begins, and the building1 called "Shorty's Museum" will be spic and span-and thronging Saddle Horse The Saddle Horse Show, which is organized by the Wranglers Riding Club, is scheduled for 9 a.m. .Sunday, August 17. Entries will be closed at 8 p.m. August 11. To be eligible to enter, all exhibitors must be Morrow County residents, and animals must have been owned and kept in Morrow County 60 days prior to time of entry. First, second, third and fourth place premiums will be awarded in amounts of $5, $4, $3, and $2, respectively. Shorty Peck, the owner of the 3-year-old museum, is not only a collector of antique farm machinery and house hold articles, but owns several antique cars and will be driving one of those automo biles in the 1980 Morrow County Parade, to be held on Aug. 23. Shorty says that he expects about 15 or 20 cars to enter the parade and that they will be awarded 1st, 2nd. 3rd, and Show Sunday There are three classes of premiums: Class A, confor mation and halter; CTass B, Performance Ponies, with judging based on performance at a walk, trot, and canter (riders will be up to and including 12 years of age);and Class C, Performance divis ion. Entries will be competing in Stock Seat equitation, with y& mode of transportation. The 1885 Shorty's Museum. possibly 4th place awards. Shorty says that the parade draws automobiles from Pendleton and Hermiston as well as from the Morrow County area. Shorty, a member of the Eastern Oregon Historial Car Club, will be driving his 1906 Sears & Roebuck auto-buggy in the parade.
