EIGHT The Heppner Gaiette-Times, Heppner, Oregon. Thursday, November 8, 1979 4 Address changes may be mailed A trip to a Motor Vehicles Division field office for ad dress change notifications is no longer necessary. Rose McCoy, DMV manager in Heppner, said that a law which took effect Oct. 3 allows drivers and people who have non-driver identification cards to notify the division of a change of address by mail to the Salem headquarters, or in person at a DMV office. Notice must still be in writing. McCoy said the change was made in an attempt to reduce workloads in DMV offices as well as to make it more convenient for people to notify the division of a change of address. Oregon law says drivers must notify DMV of a change of address within 30 days of the change. There will be times when a new duplicate license still will be needed, Mrs. McCoy said. That will happen if a driver has restrictions on the license so that there is no room on the back for the adhesive sticker showing the new address. . DMV also will issue a new photo license for an address change if the person insists on getting one. Any new issue, however, will cost the person $3 while issuance of the adhesive sticker is free.
