Special Fair & Rodeo Section Pag 5 'Down A Country Lane '-Fair theme reflects exhibits, events and lifestyle "Down A Country Lane", theme of this year's fair reflects the variety of farm and rural exhibits which will be shown to viewers at the County Fairgrounds. Just walking through the exhibits can delight the eye, tillilate the noses and en heighten interest in the typical person. Fair time is a time for all the senses to take in the sights and sounds from the 4-H animal displays to the table demonstrations and knitting demonstrations by long-time exhibitors. People in Morrow County take pride in doing their best and work towards those blue ribbons with an interesting variety of displays. There will be community booths, booths operated by organizations and telling what activities they have under taken during the year, there are commercial booths, ad vertising new products, all forms and shapes of live stockgoats, sheep, baby lambs, poultry such as chick ens, ducks, geese, guineas, quails, pigeons and turkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs; com mercial crops on display, barley, oats, wheat, wheat sheaves arranged in various demonstrations, grasses and hay, commercial potatoes, fruit and vegetables, eggs; a show of flowers and flower arranging contest delighting the visitors and keeping gar deners busy, home economics projects involving clothing, needlework, canning, foods; arts, crafts and collections and individual showings in 4-H and Future Farmers of Amer ica. The time of the pet show will be on Monday, August 20 at 1 p.m., changed from the time stated in the fair book. The pet Grand Marshall Cont. from page 4 site of the present-day Morrow County Museum. The father of four children, three boys and a girl, and 11 grandchildren, Cornett says he enjoys parades. "They create a lot of interest even for those who don't normally take interest in local events." Green is a former member of the Heppner Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Methodist Church. He and his wife, Florence, show is open to children 5-11 years old and open to all kinds of pets with one pet per child allowed. Exhibitors will care for the pets during the show; there are school exhibits from the county's schools, a kids and super kids corner, and a host of other children's exhibits. Two new events are the senior citizen judging of cookies and a table setting contest in the home economics division. Come and critique the exhibits this year if you haven't been in a long time. The exhibits will surely capti vate your senses. We hope you enjoy the 1979 Marrow County Fair &Modeo! Central Market will be open 8-6 each day to serve you...
