Lately, International events have made it more difficult for CENEX to supply farmers and other customers with quality fuels in abundant quantities. But CENEX didn't grow by avoiding challenges and as a leading supplier of farm fuels in 14 states, CENEX won't avoid this one. Your future fuel needs will require access to additional sources of crude oil. That's why CENEX recently invested $2 million in the Northern Tier Pipeline. CENEX believes that Alaskan crude oil, pumped via Northern Tier, can help provide for your needs best. There are several important reasons why. Alaskan crude is a secure supply. The largest supply of crude oil on American soil 10 billion barrels of proven reserves, so far lies under the North Slope of " Alaskarttcanprovide the most secure, long-term source of petroleum to America's most vital industry agriculture. Northern Tier is the least expensive route. Every day, as much as 500,000 barrels of Alaskan crude is shipped into central states by way of the Panama Canal and gulf-state ports. This crude oil is the excess that cannot be used by west-coast refineries an excess which will grow as the Trans-Alaska Pipeline reaches its ultimate Where the customer is the company LVJ capability. The Northern Tier Pipeline would shorten the route into CENEX country by nearly 5000 miles and cut delivery costs by more than. half. Reduced environmental risks. Pipelines are the safest way to transport petroleum. And the shorter the distance it's transport ed, the lower the risk of a spill. Northern Tier would provide both advantages. In addition, CENEX intends to work closely with Northern Tier to make sure farmers have a fair say about how the pipeline crosses their land. American oil in an American pipeline. Of three proposed pipelines that would bring Alaskan crude into mid-America, Northern Tier is the only route running entirely on American soil keeping it totally under U.S. control. That seems prudent. Moreover, a recent Department of Energy study shows that Northern Tier would deliver the oil for a significantly lower cost than either of the other options. Help build the Northern Tier Pipeline. Write your President, Senators, and Congressman to support construction of N6rthern Tier. It will help assure the future of your fuel supply.
