The tour starts on Novem ber 10 and includes two weeks visiting tourist-type areas and a one-week visit with a host family. An oppor tunity is available to members this year to share their fun through exhibiting pictures at state fair. They need not be a photography member to par ticipate; exhibits by all mem bers are welcome. A number of photos will be Rountree, Asst. Color or black and white photos may be used, with each print mounted on poster, art or photo board approximately 8 by 11 inches in size, and entries should include name, address and county of the 4-H photographer on the back. Picture should include a caption on the front. Nega tives of the picture should be placed in an envelope and attached to the exhibit. With summer fun like camp and fair... members have many opportunities for good shots with their cameras. We encourage members to think ahead and plan to enter their 4-H story in picture at state fair this year. Tell the world about Morrow 4-H. For Gardeners. ..June Is The Time To: . .Spray for codling moth in apple and pear trees (first week in June), Fertilize gar den a month after plants emerge, eat the thinnings from lettuce, onion chard, transplant tomato seedlings and control cutworms in garden. Your county agent will recommend a product to use. Spray aphids on vegetables, and control maggots on onions and carrots, (ask your agent what to use). Spray a second time for codling moth in apple and pear trees, (last week in June). Don't forget your houseplants. They are often neglected when summer gar dening takes you to the outdoors ! Enjoy the lovely month of June and get ready for hot weather and harvest in July! More Information On Grande Ronde Mini College... ..Recent information receiv ed concerning costs of the Grande Ronde Mini College, La Grande, tells us that the $16 fee listed on registration form is a fee to attend, with additional costs for housing and meals. This information was omit ted from the registration form and has caused confusion. In addition to the initial registra tion fee, participants should expect to pay $4.50 for a single room, $3 for double occupan cy, breakfasts, $2, lunch $2.50, dinner $3, on Thursday through Saturday. On Sunday, there will be a Father's Day brunch, costing $4. Partici pants should take their own towels and personal items but sheets and bedding are in cluded in the cost of the room. Registration will be accept ed until the first day of Mini College, June 14. For more details call 963-2171, extension 208. Registration forms listing classes may be obtained from Morrow Extension office. 4-H Camp And Needs For Camp... Big times are ahead for 4-H members fourth through seventh grade who get their registration in to attend the summer camp at Cutsforth Park, June 24-27. Those plan ning to attend should mail their forms in immediately. New events and activities have been added this year and many familiar programs changed or scheduled in ,a different way. Included this year is a full day of adventure away from camp with every one having the opportunity to examine new trails and see new areas. The familiar hour long classes have been elimi nated and new crafts and recreational activities added. It's a new approach to camping, both for those who have previously attended, and those for which this is a first experience. Older youth who serve as counselors are all Morrow 4-H members this year. ,- - Jff iffy
