Skip Pettyjohn and Darrel McLachlan took the furnace parts and cleaned them, brought them back and got the furnaces and hot water heaters going again. Those who didn't have any problems were busy working at the school, along with those coming in from the north side of town and the Gooseberry area. There were numerous trucks with pumping equip ment working at the school and everyone has been work ing all last week so school could start Monday. Meanwhile Rietmann Can yon really began to run Wednesday, and there was a crew downtown moving bales of hay and trying to keep the water out of businesses. Don Ball was busy pumping out his basement and also at Mike Rowells. There is still a lot of cleaning to be done in yards and on the football field, but it is still too wet. The new cyclone fence the school put up this year was torn loose and strung across the field, along with tires, garbage cans, burn barrels, just about anything that you name ended up on the field. If you lost something don't look for it on your place; go to someone elses. The Lewis Thompson mobile home on Cherry Street Irrigon news Francis Rose Wilson 922-3352 Mark Medel, the two-year old son of Karen Medel was severly burned with second and third degree burns on his right hand. He was playing with a paer towel that had been used to wipe up nail polish remover, which is very flamable, around an open oven when it caught fire. Since the mother had no insurance and hospital bills are so high, the people of the community are making con tributions at the C and H Market and at 'the Irrigon Tavern. The child has been taken to the Emmanuel Hospital, Port land for treatment. He will need skin graft and physical therapy. Pastor and Mrs. Allen Gordanier and family have moved into their new home on 8th Street. The parsonage where they formerly lived will be rented to help finance the new Assembly of God Church now under construction. Work on the church has slowed down during the severe winter weather, although some pro gress has been made and will accelerate now with better weather. The air conditioning and heating systems have been installed; andmost of the windows. Women" of the Columbia View. Fellowship Social Cbm jnittee were hostesses for a baby shower honoring Mrs. Johnpy Wadkins and infant son Tony. The shower was Thursday evening at the church basement. Several games were played and re freshments served. Mrs. Joseph Scott has been in St. Anthony's Hospital for more than a week. She is in critical condition with cancer. LaVelle Partlow traveled to Portland with her nephew and his. wife, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Mills. They visited relatives there, then Mrs. Partlow went to Seattle where she spent four days with her daughter Sherry Partlow, before returning home Saturday. printing 676-9228 between Third and Fourth, was damaged the most as debris piled up behind it for awhile they were afraid it would be pushed over. Summer schedule for worship will be at 9:30 a.m. starting Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend. Easter breakfast will be held from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Family worship on Easter Sunday will be held at 10:00 a.m. Lorene Griffith and Judy Rea are co-chairman for the auction's country store.
