Those present were Camilla Sam ples, Gladys VanWinkle, Faye Seitz, Betty Christman and the honoree. Mrs. Tom Bradd of Ontario is visiting her mother, Mrs. Gladys Van Winkle. Clark is the former Rosetta Laney, a former resident of Lexington, and a sister of Mrs. Gerry Messenger. Millie and Marie Yocom were Portland visitors over the weekend. Florence McMillan was a recent overnight visitor at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Irvin of Boardman. Mr. and Mrs. Rick Zita were weekend callers in Heppner and Lexington from their home in Beaverton. Jack Yocom is visiting in Calgary, Canada and attend ing the Calgary Stampede with friends. Lolita Marquardt, who is employed in Portland, was a weekend visitor at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Marquardt. She attended the shower in Heppner for her sister Carlita, bride-elect of Jim Bloodsworth. Kevin and Lance Klinger from Brush Prairie, Wash, are visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ledbetter, and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Klinger. June DuVall and daughter Renee of Seattle are visiting friends and relatives in Lex ington and Heppner, including Mrs. DuVall's mother Cleo VanWinkle, who is a patient in Pioneer Memorial Nursing home. The Betty Christman home was the scene Monday of a luncheon and birthday party Driver's license tests scheduled Lexington news 989-8189 State Motor Vehicles Divi sion personnel will be in Heppner on July 26, August 23, and September 20 to conduct driver's license exams and issue photo driver's licenses. The motor vehicles division van will be parked in front of Heppner City Hall from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on all three dates. Persons wishing to complete an examination on the same day the van is in town are urged to file applications at least 45 minutes in advance of scheduled closing hours. ' , 4 i land. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Don Clark and children of Portland stopped for a short visit enroute to Hermiston where they will be opening a Clark's shoe store in the new shopping center there. I i l v 9 1 'A 'A O Kinzua news Barbara Pike Arlett and Bonnie Campbell spent the weekend at Hay stack Lake near Madras enjoying the sun and water skiing. They were joined by Arlett's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Avery Campbell, Bend, and Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Nicklas and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Williams. Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Nicklas, both of Redmond, are Arlett's sisters. Arden and Marian Tripp are back home following a trip to the Oregon coastal area with their son Tom and his family. The Tripps returned to Kinzua on Thursday. The Tom Tripps left the first of July for their home in Laurel, Montana. Arden and Marian are staying busy these days as they are looking around the Heppner area for housing. Arden, who has been unable to work for some time following surgery, will soon be going to work as a fireman at Kinzua Corpor ation's Heppner plant. Don and Rose Hardwick spent the long Fourth of July weekend in Baker visiting friends and relatives. While in Baker Don attended the class reunion held in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of his high school graduation. This Thursday, the Hardwicks were in Pendleton on business. Dee and Deena Whitney have moved into the home formerly occupied by the Glenn Spivey family. The young couple is from Patter son, Washington. Dee is work ing for Greenup Tree Thin ning. He is familiar to many here since he lived with his cousin, Roberta Conlee, about five years ago while a senior at WHS. Irrigon news Francis Rose WUson 922-3352 George and Grace Kenney of Irrigon, invite their friends to an open house at their new home. It is located just East of their former home, and near the west end of Washington Avenue. It will be held on July 14, from noon throughout the day. Those from Irrigon attend ing the Assembly of God Old Fashioned Camp Meeting at Brooks, included: Pastor and Mrs. Allen Gordanier and family, Donna Driver and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wilson. A baseball game Sunday afternoon between the Colum bia View Fellowship and the Assembly of God churches brought out some friendly competition. The Assembly won 10 to nine. Other games will be scheduled through the summer, with other churches participating. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Warner included their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arlan Pember and family of Springfield, Mo., and Mrs. Ruth Vrontakeis and sons of Salem. Visitors at the Ted Wilson home are their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wilson and family of Texas.
