ning Commission will conduct

1978, at 8:00 p.m., in the North
Morrow County Office Build
ing in Irrigon.
The. purpose of the hearing
is for the following applica
tion: 1. Application by Dewey
West of Boardman to present
a preliminary plat of a
proposed subdivision consist
ing of 40 acres located in
T.4N., R. 25E.W.M., Section
22, Tax Lot 200.

BUDGET HEARING
A meeting of the City of lone
will be held on June 6, 1978 at
8:00 p.m. at lone City Hall.
The purpose of this meeting is
to discuss the budget for the
fiscal year beginning July 1,
1978 as approved by the City of
lone Budget Committee. A
summary of the budget is
presented below. A copy of the
budget may be inspected or
obtained free of charge at
Bristows' Market between the
hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00
p.m. The budget was prepared
on a basis of accounting
consistent with the basis of
accounting used during the
preceding year. Major chan
ges, if any, and their effect on
the budget, are explained
below.

10:00 a.m. at the Morrow
County Courthouse, Heppner.
Public hearings will be held on
the following matter:
1. Application by Nagl &
Sons, Inc., Aurora, Oregon for
a zone change from Qualified
Farm to Farm, location of the
proposed change is T.4N.,
R.25E., Section 14, tax lot 1200,
consisting of 38.20 acres.
Interested persons are in
vited to attend the hearing and

The Oregon Veterans Civic
Council, an organization
formed by federal, state, and
local 'veteran service agen
cies, is planning a Veterans'
Counseling and Information
Center to be held at the
Pendleton National Guard
Armory May 17 and 18.
The center will provide
information and direct assis
tance to veterans, wives,
widows, dependents, and also
employers in Morrow and
Umatilla counties. It is esti
mated more than 8,000 veter
ans live in this area, and many
of them are not aware of their
veterans' benefits.
The center will be open from
10a.m. to 8p.m. both days and
ill offer one-stop, full-service
counseling and assistance.
Participating agencies will
offer a complete range of their
programs including farm and
home loans, education, hospi
talizaton, retirement, dis
charge upgrading, tax ser
vice, and others.
PMH Open House Friday
An open house at Pioneer
Memorial Hospital is sche
duled for Friday, May 12,
from 2 to 4 p.m. in the medical
facility's solarium.
The program will include a
tea, a film, and a demonstra
tion on cardiopulminary re
suscitation techniques. A
blood pressure clinic will be
available, as will information
on nutrition and other health
maintenance topics.
The open house program
marks Pioneer Memorial Hos
pital's acknowledgement of
National Hospital Week.
