Raymond Cecil, William Snider and Erma Hams were admitted and dismissed, while Inis Owen and Alba Moyer were still patients on Tuesday. The Morrow County stork beat Santa Claus this year, delivering two baby girls to the hospital in the days before Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Hatley of Monument are the proud parents of a new daughter named Lisa Jo Ann. She was born on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 11:40 p.m., weighing in at 6 pounds. Lisa joins two sisters and a brother in the Hatley home. Her grandparents include Mrs. Paul Pearson of La Grande and Rita Hinton of Monument. She also has a great-grandmother, Emma Williams of LaGrande. On Christmas Eve, Satur day, Dec. 24, a daughter named Andrea Corynn was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ber nardo Madrigal of lone at 6:21 a.m., weighing 8 pounds and 3 ounces. Two big sisters wel comed Andrea home. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Keith Vosberg of Lexing ton. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Har man of Lebanon are great grandparents while Grandma Willey living in Oklahoma is the child's great-great-grandmother. O Irrigon news Francis Rose Wilson 922-3352 The Veterans of Foreign Wars honored the Gold Star Mothers of this area at the annual Christmas dinner held at the C.R.C. Hall on Dec. 17 in Hermiston. Warren McCoy of Irrigon, the State Commander of VFW was the guest speaker. His subjects were concerning the Panama Canal and the loca tion of the Veterans Hospital in Portland. Other special guests along with the gold star mothers were District Commander Bill Bloom of Pendleton, Deputy Chief of Staff Bob Bell, District President Jeannette Bell, State Safety Chairman Marge Bloom of Pendleton, Frances McCoy State Conduc tress, Howard Cromer Com mander of Desert Post 4750. Commander Cromer as Master of Ceremonies presen ted gifts to gold star mothers and other guests. Special recognition was given to Alma St. John who received a corsage and a pin for belong ing to the VFW auxiliary for 50 years. Santa Claus made an ap pearance with gifts for all the children and wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
