TWELVE The Gazette-Times, ( Patients admitted and dis missed from Pioneer Memor ial Hospital since Oct. 11 include Delpha Nelson, Dre ama Howell and Thomas V. Wilson, all of Heppner. New Heppner patients still in the hospital as of Tuesday, Oct. 18 were James Brannon, Vessie Harrison, Alta Edger and Don McEwen. Pearl Green, Lex ington, also remains a patient. The Morrow County stork, after taking a long vacation, flew in two baby girls to Pioneer memorial Hospital in the last week. Deanna Nadine Deanna Nadine was born Friday, Oct. 14, to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Glover Peck of Lexington. She weighed 7 Heppner American Legion Post No. 87 and Auxiliary held their regular monthly meet ings and potluck dinner Mon day, Oct. 17, at the Legion Hall. Reports from Girl's State delegate, Dee Hedman and Boy's State delegate, Doug Marquardt were heard. Both young people enjoyed and learned from their experi ence. Dee, a senior at Heppner High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnie Hedman, Heppner, who are both active participants in American Le gion and Auxiliary. Doug, also a senior at Heppner High, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Marquardt, Lexington. Mr. and Mrs. Marquardt were guests at the dinner and program Monday evening. At the Auxiliary meeting following the program, plans were discussed for Christmas Maintaining car topic of October meeting "Maintaining Your Car" will be the topic of the Widow and Widower Club meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Blue Mountain Community College in Pioneer Hall Room 106. Retired teachers to meet October 22 Myron Knigge of the Seattle office of NRTA Insurance will be the speaker at the October meeting of Oregon Retired Educators and will be availa ble to answer questions of general interest. The She irbons are also the parents of one son. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sheirbon, Hood River; Del Ruscher, Salem; Charlotte Ruscher, Salem; and Mrs. Bert Pluymashens, Union City, Calif. Great-grandparents include Legion news Gift Shop. Also discussed was the Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Workshop scheduled for Nov. 5, at Pilot Rock. This is one of the principal projects of the Auxiliary. It will be presented by Department Chairman Ar lene Downing, Lebanon. It will be a four hour session, sta rting at 10 a .m ., with a noon luncheon served by the Pilot Rock unit. It is open to all units from District 6. Any members from this area interested in attending should contact Martha King, as the Pilot Rock unit needs to know by Nov. 2 how many people to expect. District 6 President Evelyn Sweek made a visitation to the Elgin Unit Tuesday, Oct. 18, and will also make a visitation to the Baker Unit Thursday, Oct. 20. The club was organized to help recently widowed men and women deal with social and emotional situations.
