TEN The Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon, Thursday, October 20, 1977 Extention Events... t Birdine "ii'"jiJTir' i 1 1 1 LSI m I m 1 1 1 Liiir t mm with Tullis til n.i.1.1 Leadership for Morrow 4-H We salute the new officers of the north and south MorrW leaders councils, as they as sume the leadership of the 4-H program for the coming year, recently selected officers for jhe south council are: Jim Hayes, Heppner, chairman; Phyl Piper, Lexington, secre tary; and Judy Laughlin, Heppner, treasurer. Officers for the north council are Lois Richards, chairman; Fran cine Evans, secretary; and Rose Wilson, treasurer; all Irrigon residents. The above officers will make up the executive com mittee of the Morrow County 4-H Council, and as such will meet regularly to make re commendations concerning operation of the youth devel opment program, as well as conduct the regular business. Both councils will meet inde pendently, as well as attend a number of joint meetings of the entire group of leaders throughout the program year. As the new officers begin their terms of service to the program, we encourage all leaders to step forward and assist with the work of the council, as well as offer their support and encouragement to ' those they have chosen as their officers. A strong, en thusiastic group of 4-H lead ers, sharing in decisions relat ing to the program offers many pluses to the program. We believe the 4-H youth probram in our county is the leader's program. ..and we welcome the assistance and leadership of the council! New Leaders...New Leaders! ! We have them ! And we are so super excited and delight ed! As one by one they come to offer their leadership for clubs in the county, we feel that 4-H is really on the move! There are many opportunities for others inter ested in leadership... .4-H has sixty written projects, and others may be developed to fit our special needs! Style Show of Fall Fashions Fall fashions offer many new looks this year, and the lucky gal who can sew her own, or those interested in seeing exciting new fabrics and looking for ideas on wardrobe planning will be happy to hear they have an opportunity to attend a special style show Simplicity Pattern Company has made available a wardrobe of new adult fashions, which will be model ed by local women, Saturday, Otober 29, 2 p.m., at West of Willow restaurant, Heppner. We decided to make this special afternoon a double header. Come, enjoy coffee, see the new fashions modeled by some of the county's loveliest homemakers, and make a small donation to the International Four-H Youth Exchange program. The IFYE program brings many international visitors to our county, as well as offering opportunity for Oregon youth to travel abroad. The program is supported by donations, and recently has had many finan cial problems. 4-H Family Night Planned for October 30 The special night for recog nizing all 4-H members, and having a good old fashioned Halloween family party, is set for Sunday evening, October 30, 6 p.m. at the Fair Pavilion. Hans call for a potluck dinner to start the evening's events, followed by old time games and fun for the Halloween season, recognition of mem bers, presentation of county medal awards, and hopefully, a showing of favorite slides of 4-H activities or members. All attending are asked to bring one or two of their favorite slides to be included in the slide show. ..they may be oldies or new ones. Bring the family, your, favorite potluck dish, and join the 4-H Family Night. Coffee, rolls, plates, and such miscel laneous items will be furnish ed by the 4-H Council. Older youth in the 4-H program will be in charge of games and fun! Leader Teacher Training, Oc tober 25 Study group leader teachers are reminded training for "The Natural Look", a skin care lesson, is scheduled for October 25, 10a.m. at the Civic Recreation Building, Hermis ton or October 26, Room 106, BMCC, Pendleton.
