Eleanor and Ed Gonty...
...hobby turns into business
"A hobby turned into a full
time job," is the way Ed and
Eleanor Gonty describe their
electronics shop which opened
for business earlier this year
in the new white and green
metal building at 136 N. Gale
in Heppner, across from their
home.
Ed has tinkered with radio
repair since about 1933, the
year he took over manage
ment of Gonty's Shoe Store
from his father and even had a
little repair shop set up in the
store. The Gontys decided that

sent out
During the next week,
several households in the
college district will receive an
"Adult Vocational Interest
Survey." The purpose is to
find out what kinds of voca
tional education classes adults
would be likely to take.
Because only a small num
ber of surveys is being sent it
is very important that most of
them are returned.
When the survey comes to
your home, the college asks
you to take a few minutes to
fill it out and mail it back.

Now you can afford the
vehicle you need. Ever
notice something about the
new cars? Many of them cost
less to operate, but they sure
seem to cost more to buy in ,
the first place.
Well, we can't do anything
about bringing down the price
you have to pay, but we can
do the next best thing: give
you more time to pay it in. . .
up to 48 months, depending
on purchase price.
The way we see it, those
extra months may let you afford
to buy the kind of vehicle you
really want new car, wagon,
van, camper or light truck.
