The GED test center located in the Counsel ing Center at Blue Mountain Community College will re main open until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evenings. The center is always open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Tuesday evening time was added to give more people the opportunity to take the tests. Help in preparing for the GED tests is available at BMCC, Hermiston, Heppner, Milton-Freewater and the Umatilla Indian Adult Educa tion Center. Adult High School Diploma programs are avail able at the same locations. After Pastor Tollefson's sermonette for the younger children, parents may choose to have their babies and young children cared for in the church nursery, or may keep them with them for the entire service. Deann Connor has been in charge of the Sunday morning child care at the church for several years. Classes are held in Heppner on Thursday evenings in the Neighborhood Center on West Willow Street. was almost a full house during part of the period between Oct. 4 and Oct. 11, as many patients were admitted and dismissed. Heppner residents dismis sed in that time included Russell Tucker, Judy Wright, Rita Sumner, Colleen Greenup Brian Ertz, Edwin Wilson and Elmer Steers. Still in the hospital from Heppner were Delpha Nelson. Leonard Debby Koster, Nona Moore and Harlan McCurdy. Others dismissed from Pio neer Memorial were Bonnie Graves, Lexington; Keith Workman, Portland; Isadore Sanchez, lone; and Lois Hunt, Lexington. Patients still in the hospital included Judy Hampton, Kin zua, and Joseph Worlein, Spray. Host families are needed for young people from Mexico (11 - 16 years of age) who are participating in the exchange program, "Intercambio" or International Student Ex change Program. , The students live with an American family practicing English and learning our way of life and culture. The El Salvadorians arrive Novem ber 17 and return home January 20. From Nicaragua and Costa Rica the students arrive December 1 and return home February 10. Students are sponsored by their own families or civic groups in their own countries. Cost includes air fare, health insurance, supervision and administration. Host families meet students at the airport and contribute room,' board and lots of love.
