CEILING ALARM CLOCK This clock is really dif ferent! It projects the time in digital numbers on the ceiling of any darkened room. Invisible beam has no glare to keep you awake. ONLY $39.95 i4 !SrB f About with Justine Weatherford Time certainly moves rapidly. It's first grade, eighth grade, high school graduation and then a tenth-year reunion. A nice invitation was received from the Heppner H.S. class of 1967 to join them at their reunion on June 18 and 19. Secretary Mrs. Roger Leonnig (Teensie Moore) lists the schedule for the two days' events which begin with a class golf tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday and conclude after the noon picnic on Sunday. The reunion banquet will be at the Elks' Club from 7:30 until 9:00 Saturday evening and will be followed by a dance. It's back to the driver's seat for Leonard Munkers on June 15. The "greatest" school bus driver is set to chauffeur a group of senior citizens on a planned outing to historic Shaniko. Several Soroptimists will accompany the group to help in any way they can. One of the most attractive sights in the community just now is the city property beside the E.E. Gonty home and below Johann Wood's mobile dwelling. The Gontys contribute hours of muscle work to keep that curved beauty spot in shape. The wide selection of iris are at their best about now. A funny thing happened last Wednesday evening when the public librarian walked to the library and thus the green Datsun she drives was not parked out in front. All the board members decided she had left town or something and went to the Columbia Basin's conference room to hold the May meeting instead of coming into the library, where she waited. Chairman Struthers' wife Marie revealed the situation and the ex-officio member caught up with the meeting. In just less than one month, she will no longer be ex-officio or the struggling secretary to the board, but will become an ex -librarian as the Heppner Public Library goes to an all volunteer system. If try lone United Church of Christ folks are at all worried about the weather for their big June 4 auction, they could enlist help from Rev. Steve Tollefson, who saw that the rains stopped before the Methodist sale and resumed again the evening of the following day. We have been slow in discovering that the county park boss is now Robert Lowe. Wonder if he can somehow get a railroad motif incorporated into Cutsforth Park? By Sunday afternoon. May 29, Darla Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Cooper, Heppner, and a 1977 graduate here was at Yellowstone Park ready to get working for the summer with the National Park Service. Darla 'phoned home to say she had arrived safely and found there was still snow on the ground at the big park. Sandra Palmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Palmer, Eight Mile area, a Heppner graduate of several years back who has gained an associate degree in biological sciences from BMCC this spring, is also being employed by the National Park Service. Sandra will work at John Day, Ore., for the months of June, July and August. She plans to attend Southern Oregon State College at Ashland, beginning next September. Comely court keeps busy pace On Saturday, May 28, they were at the Spray Rodeo, appearing in the parade and riding in the grand entry. The next day, Sunday, May 29, they were introduced to the crowd at the Pioneer Picnic in Heppner. On Saturday, June 4, they will attend the Umatilla Sage Riders' luncheon and festivities at Umatilla.
