Arlington man charged with illegal fishing In Justice Court at Heppner Tuesday, April 26, James William Boyce, 20, of Hep pner, was fined $75.00 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal activity in drugs, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. On April 27, Dixie Allen, 52, Heppner, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicating liq uor and was fined $305.00. Also in Justice Court here, Percy A. Brigham, 66, of Arlington, has entered a plea of innocent to a charge of fishing with nets in a closed season. He was charged after auth orities found an estimated 1,000 pounds of rotten fish, including four live sturgeon, in gill nets placed in the Board man area. Brigham told the court that the nets in question were stolen last year. According to first reports, the nets had apparently been in the water for some time. The nets, worth several hun dred dollars each, had Brig ham's name imprinted on the floats, it was reported. Baird faces charges Monday for manslaugher, mistreatment The trial of Leslie Dawn Baird, 23, of Umatilla, is scheduled in Circuit Court at Heppner beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 16. She faces a two-count indictment of manslaughter and criminal mistreatment in connection with the death of her 2-year-old son on Dec. 2, 1976. - The defendant has entered no plea and has been free on her own recognizance since she was arraigned in Heppner in late March.
