The District meet was hosted by the Bend Bow Hunters. The State meet will be hosted by the Quiver Rattlers. ' size Zimmerman. The Wheeler County Archers Youth Bare Bow Boys Amateur Team of Pat Bell and Rob Conlee will also go to State. Bob Zimmerman will shoot in the Bare Bow, individual men, and Rob Conlee in the individual youth group. Betty Murdock will be shooting in the Bow Hunters Women Individual. GIRL SCOUTS CELEBRATE The Junior Girl Scout Troop 627, Kinzua, entertained their mothers at a tasting tea in observance of Girl Scout Thinking Day, Feb. 22. The troop now has ten members with the addition of three new members. They are Diana Johnson, Paula Muzzy and Lisa Johnson. Ralph and Joann Wilson are enjoying a long visit with their son E4 MK3 John Wilson and their daughter, Vonna Ander son. John is stationed at Portsmouth, Va., with the Coast Guard. John and Vonna arrived a week ago. Vonna will return home to Oxnard, Calif., Friday. Also going to Day ville to help the Sharps were Steve Carnes and Randy Sharp. The four Kinzua people were joined by Helen Williams and seven other friends from Pilot Rock for a weekend "rock" party. The party was a real success and the Sharps will be putting in a lawn, if the water situation permits, thanks to the good efforts of the young people. Carole Norris went to Bend Tuesday for dental care. She was able to return home on Wednesday. Bruce Parret and the Gwen Sharp family are enjoying a visit from Rick Parret, Unity. Size ., i I'll' Steve Ball and a friend, Dennis Lov, met Steve's par ents, Jack and Marge Ball, at the District Basketball Tour nament in The Dalles Friday. The two boys returned to Port Lewis, Wash., Sunday. Quite a few former area residents attended the tour-, nament, along with a good portion of Fossil and Kinzua. Fans were treated to many hours of entertainment this season, thanks to the hard work of the young people and their coaches. Bonnie Campbell, Vi Slink ard and Hallie Spivey went to Cascade Locks Friday after noon to join the many Wheeler basketball fans at the games. They were joined by Naomi Rice for the trip home. Randy Sharp went to Unity Friday to visit friends. He returned home Sunday with two friends, Bruce Parret and Brian Bradford. Bruce will be working for Kinzua Corpora tion and staying with the Sharp family. The children's parents are Lyle and Elva Muzzy of Thome Bay, Alaska. Kevin and Paula will finish the school year in Fossil while their home is being repaired. The double wide mobile home had the roof torn off one side in a 100 mile per hour wind at Thome Bay. While in Kinzua, the children will divide their time between their other grandparents, Bob and Vera Dyer, and the Muzzys. Jack and Marge Ball were surprised Saturday by their son Steve and two of his friends, One T Patterson and John Hough, all from Port Lewis, Wash. The boys re turned to camp Monday.
