Duffer Women's play began this past Tuesday and results will he in the next issue of the Gazette-Times. Men's team play is schedul ed for Wednesday nights. This will get underway April 21. You will soon be receiving a copy of the activity calendar showing the visitations for the season as well as the dates and those in charge of the various activities. BO RD CONSIDERS FINAL Bl ILD1NG PLANS Directors of Morrow County School District met Monday, March 29, with architect. Bob Smith and building principals to review final plans for the district's building program. Principals presented final revisions to the plans for proposed construction at Riv erside High, A C. Houghton Elementary, lone High and Heppner High Schools. Archi tect Smith pointed out that advertisements for bid open ing had been placed in two newspapers and in the Daily Journal of Commerce. In addition invitations had been sent to a number of interested firms. Smith said that early responses would indicate that a number of bids will be received. Bid opening is set for April 14. 8 p.m. in the district office in Lexington. Contractors in terested in bidding are asked to contact the architect. Smith and Hasegawa. Ontario. Ore gon for bid forms. Keglers Ivorncr Peterson's Jewelers won 4 games from Fiesta Bowl, Coast to Coast and Gardners split their 4 game series with 2 games each and Central Mar ket lost 3 games to Morrow County Grain Growers. Roberta Klaus. Coast to Coast took high honors with a 191 for individual high game and also a 483 for individual high series. Petersons Jewelers rolled an 8K1 for high team game and a 2WM for high team series. The Antelopes, one of the stronger class A teams in the state stopped the Mustangs by a score of 3-2. Adrian pounded out 10 hits against the Mustangs, but some fine fielding plays by the Mustangs stopped their ral lies. Heppner used 1 hit and 2 errors in the 6th inning to score their 2 runs. Dave Allstott knocked a double up against the right field wall in the 3rd inning but was thrown out at home plate when he tried to score on a single by Dennis Peck. Heppner: 2 R, 3 H, 1 E. Adrian: 3 R, 10 H. 2 E. JVS OPEN SEASON The Heppner JVs opened their season with a 4th inning 6-1 victory over the Riverside JVs. Mike Stookey and Randy Worden picked up the hits for Heppner. The Mustang hitters were led by Clayton Wilson with a triple and a single in 2 trips with 3 RBIs. Dave Allstott was 2-4 with I RBI. Jim Lankford picked up the win for Heppner to make his season record 2-0. He limited the Pirates to 1 hit. Robert Henry relieved him in the 7th inning and he also gave up 1 hit. Heppner 7 R, 6 H, 3 E. Riverside: 1 R, 2 H. 4 E. In the return engagement on the Mustangs home field, the Heppner '9' triumphed 7-6 in 5 innings. The Mustangs -tallied 3 runs in the 1st inning on a double by Bruce Young. Other leading hitters were Skow 1-3, Lank ford 1-2, Allstott 1-2 and Henry 1-2. Jim Lankford picked up his third win of the season with no losses. Seberg was 3-2 for Riverside while Ken was 1-3 with 2 RBIs. Heppner: 7 R, 5 H, 5 E. Riverside: 6 R, 6 H, 5 E.
