It was the lowest traffic toll the state has recorded since 1963, when 563 were killed, and 16 per cent below the toll in 1974. Deaths may be revised upward later if persons now listed as injured die as a result of those Injuries or if delayed death reports are received, a division spokesman said. Tentative figures indicate that 439 people died as passengers or drivers of motor vehicles. Eighty pede strians, nine bicyclists and 37 motorcyclists were listed as traffic victims for the year.
