I, 8. 1976 OREGON WINTER WHEAT SEEDINGS UP 4 PER CENT Oregon's 1975 winter wheat seeded for harvest in 1976 is estimated at 1,200,000 acres, 4 per cent above last year's seeded acreage, according to the Oregon Crop and Live stock Reporting Service. This is a record acreage, surpass ing the 1,150,000 acres seeded for the 1975 harvest. Prospective winter wheat production based on Dec. 1 weather and soil moisture conditions is expected to total 52,800,000 bushels, 1 per cent more than the record 1975 crop. Dry soil conditions hamper ed seeding during the fall season in parts of eastern Oregon. Heavy rainfall during October and November in the Willamette Valley left some intended acreage still unseed ed on Dec. 1. Seedings of winter wheat in the three state area of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, is placed at 5,150.000 acres, 3 per cent more than last year. Expected production for the area is forecast at 215,670,000 bushels, 3 per cent below the 1975 crop. Washington's acre age at 2,940,000 is up 3 per cent while production at 123,480,000 bushels is down 8 per cent. Idaho's acreage, at 1,010,000 is up 2 per cent and production, at 39.390,000 bushels, is up 9 per cent from last year. Nationally, winter wheat seeded acreage is placed at 57.2 million acres, 2 per cent above last year. ja1HaTl-ti l 1l Tig ! g Heppnerites .A new or used car In your future?
