Friday night at Heppner. The Mustangs scored on their opening drive on a 19 yard pass play Allstott to Padbert with 9:35 still re maining on the clock in the first quarter. The PAT by Wilson split the uprights and the Mustangs led 7-0. With 41 seconds left in the half, a pass interference call against the Mustangs gave the Vikings the ball on the Heppner eight yard line Viking Mike Brown completed a pass to Phil Cimmivotti for a Umatilla TD. The try for the two point conversion failed and the Mustangs led at the half 7-6. In the third quarter with the Vikings in possession of the kill and with fourth and long yardage the Vikings punted to The lone Cardinals defeated the Arlington Honkers. 34-28 last Friday in their Home coming Game. Although the score was close, it was lone all the way. As the half ended the Cards led the Honkers 28-6. In the first half lone scored TDs on a 50 yard pass play, Rietmann to Thompson; two yard run by Skye Krebs; 14 yard run by Kevin McCabe; 50 yard run by Marvin Johnson. The lone Arlington score came on a 12 yard pass Smythe to Weatherall. In the third quarter Skye Krebs scored once again for the Cardinals on a nine yard run. The Honkers scored TDs on a one and four yard run and an 18-yard pass, Smythe to Wea therall. All three conversions for the extra two points were completed passes Smythe to Weatherall. Statistics: net yards rushing (I) 314, (A) 161; net yards passing tl( 94, (A) 108; first downs (I) 14, (A) 13; passes (I) 6-124, (A) 9-18-1. This Friday the Cardinals travel to Dufur for their final game in the Big Sky Conference. KEGLER S KOR.NER In the Sparetimers League, Morrow County Grain Grow ers took 4 games from Coast to Coast, while Central Market lost 3 games to Fiesta Bowl. Peterson's Jewelers and Gar dner's Men's Wear split their series at 2-2. MCGG took the honors for high team series with 2591 and also for the high team game. 875. Fiest Bowl was close on their heels with an 873 for team game. Ineta Canton, Peterson's took the high honors for individual high series and high game with a 518 and a 199 respectively. t - - lJ ' wJ the Mustangs; however, a roughing the kicker penalty was assessed against the Mustangs and the Vikings retained possession of the ball. With fourth down and six yards to go for a first down, Mike Brown tossed a pass to Tom Leader, good for 33 yards and a Viking score. The PAT failed and the Vikings had a 12-7 lead over the Mustangs. In the fourth quarter the Mustangs bid for victory was foiled as the Vikings intercep ted a Mustang pass with 2:20 remaining on the block. The Vikings tried to run out the block, but were forced to punt. With only 57 seconds left in the game the Vikings intercepted another Mustang pass, icing the game. Statistics for last Friday night's game are as follows : net yards rushing U 110, H 127; net yard passing. (U) 98, (11)76; first downs (U 12. H 11; penalties (U 75. Individual statistics for the Mustangs are as follows: Dave Allstott gained 78 net yards in 8 carries and he completed 7-21 passes for 76 yards; Wade Padberg had 25 net yards on 14 carries and caught 4 passes for 38 yards and one touchdown; Steve McLaughlin caught 3 passes for 38 yards; Doug Harris had 11 individual tackles, 4 assists and recovered one fumble; Clay West had 8 individual tackles and Wade Padberg had 7 individual tackles. BIYlCC's team wins 0 "0, Service lo resume The State of Oregon Em ployment Division will resume monthly unemployment claim service to the Heppner area in November. While the unemployment rate remains high, a claims representative will be at the Columbia Basin Electric Co op, conference room the second Thursday of each month, from 9.30a m. to noon. This service will begin Nov. 13. 1975. The Blue Mountain Com munity College Livestock Ju dging Team won first place In swine judging, third in sheep, and sixth in the beef division of the Junior College Judging Contest at the Pacific Interna tional Livestock Exposition, Portland, Saturday. Three team members, John Mathwick, Athena, Doug Ben nett, Hermiston and Ken Peterson, LaGrande ranked among the top five contestants in two livestock divisions. Other team members were Susan Bennett, Hermiston and Judy Bennett, Heppner. Blue Mountain was the only Oregon team to place in the top five overall, according to Paul Davis, BMCC team advisor. Twelve teams from Oregon, Washington and Cali fornia competed in the con test. The team w ill compete next in the Cow Palace judging contest in San Francisco, CA, and the Golden Spike contest, Ogden, LT. Last year Jim Probert, Enterprise, was high indivi dual in horse judging at the Cow Palace. In addition Peg gy O'Neal was 5th high individual in swine judging and the team was second in horse judging at California State University, Chico.
