The Heppner Branch of the American Association of University Wo men will hold their second summer market on Friday. July 1 1 in the vacant lot next to Cole's House of Fashion. Anyone who has craft items, garden produce, baked goods or other items which they have made and wish to sell are encouraged to do so. Morrow Extension Assistant. The Heppner workshop will be held on July It, 7:30 at the fairgrounds. Many employed homemakers interested in drying of foods were unable lo attend the recent daytime meetings. Molly Saul, extension home economist will demonstrate and explain techniques of drying in dehydrator, oven and sun. A food dryer built to specifications of Extension Bulletin EC 855 will be used, and some commercial dryers will be shown. Bulletins and instruction sheets on drymg goods, making fruit leathers, dehydrators and other infor mation concerning all phases of drying will be available free of charge to those attending. Everyone is invited to attend the free workshop. Cither workshops will be held in Milton Freewater. Pendle ton, and Hermiston. Identical information will be presented by Mrs. Saul at each work shop. CHILD CENTER OPENS A child care center is due to open ir Boardman July 28 to care for children of working mothers. Ages six weeks to 10 years will be accepted. The center will be housed in the 4 H building located at the Boardman City Park Anyone wishing to enroll children in the center may do so by picking up an applica tion at the City Hall, or the Boardman Post Office.
