This is the third summer
trip which the Lutheran high
school students have taken.
Two ears un, they went

Mountains, and last summer
they took a canoe trip on the
Willamette Hiver.
Sunday, they drove to Ana
fortes. Wa . where they stay

Mrs. Trotter was a member of

She was the recipient of a

Mrs. Trotter is now employ
ed in Springfield where she
and her husband Dean, a 1972
OSU graduate in chemical
engineering, have been resid

with their son-in-law and
granddaughter Kimberly.
A celebration picnic was
held at the Trotter's Spring
field home with many friends
and relatives attending.

Opal Cook served as direc
tor of the Heppner Christian
and Church of The Nazarene
Bible School last week On
Friday evenings parents were
invited to a concluding pro
gram and social time. They
saw some of the work the
children had done during the
week and visited with the
teachers and one another
while enjoying refreshments.
The daily attendance at the
morning school averaged 40
youngsters. The four teachers
this year were Carol Godin
and Nancy McElhaney of the
Nazarene Church and Laura
Lee Stotts and Frances Mit
chell of the Christian Church.

recently spent two weeks in
Heppner visiting friends.
While here she was a house
guest of the C. C. Carmi
chaels. On her return to Canby she

Pledge ceremony Bible school hosts parents
given for new
sorority member
A pledge ceremony was held
at the home of Rita Harris last
Tuesday night for Verna
Brinda. Mrs. Harris, assisted
by Ellen Kennedy, read the
candlelight ceremony.
Betty Heath received her
first Pearl Award. This award
is given to first year members
only who participate in all
three of her Chapter's pur
poses: philanthropic, educa
tional and social along with
sponsoring a new ESA mem
ber. The educational theme
"Salt and Pepper", local,
state and international phil
anthropic projects and social
activities for the forthcoming
year were discussed.

A "fun night" social was
held recently at the grade
school baseball field for Alpha
Theta members and their
guests. After all had a chance
