M llx A J u I'-U Mr. and Mrs. Ray Garmen dia, (Marge Bauman) and young son Jeff of 220 4th Ave., S., Nampa, Idaho, 83851. were visitors last week at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bauman. Mrs. Garmendia reported that her mother, Bernice Disney, is still in nursing home. Heppner He and Dr. Joe Gifford attended the same college and medical school. Dr. Carpenter served his internship in Spokane. Wa. He and Dr. Gifford have been practicing medicine together for the past year. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, and music. He is also a licensed pilot. Florence McMillan and Freda Ma jeske returned home after attending the Rebekah Assembly at Klamath Falls. The ladies went as delegates to the Rebekah Assembly. Going from Heppner were Ola Ruggles, Mr. and Mrs. Pete McMurtry and Randall Peter son. Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Jones motored to Klamath Falls on Tuesday where Mr. Jones took the Oddfellow degree on Wednesday. They returned home that day. They assumed ownership of Central Market June 1 Burkenbine has been in charge of the store many years and McCabe has been in charge of the meat department. Both plan to continue their respective duties within the store. Elementary school presents concert GENERAL REVENUE SHARING PLANNED USE REPORT to trtnrftii I anion pomaoMMi at oaamaMant vow fowanaaam " The Spring concert of the Heppner Elementary School was held last Wednesday. Approximately 120 persons attended the concert present ed by the fifth through eighth grades. The concert began with a medley of tunes played by the fifth grade band that includ ed. Soldier Boy. Krazy Klock. Rondelay and Camp Town Races. This was followed by the fifth grade chorus who sang Colorado Trail and Bile them Cabbage Down. The combined chorus of the fifth and sixth grade present ed a medley of Ain't Gona Grieve My Lord and America the Beautiful. The sixth grade chorus sang. Wade in the Water. Greg Sweeney soloist, and Your Friends Shall be the Tall Winds. Ian Cate and Susan Johnson soloists. The sixth grade band played Bunker Hill. Festival March, This Old Man and Captain Kidd The seventh and eighth grade choir sang City of New Orleans. Blowin in the Wind, Which Way America and Harmony. The combined band of the seventh ai.d eighth grade presented the following songs: Fireworks Music. Big Band Dixieland and Little Scotch Suite. The junior high Dixieland Church Directory group entertained the audi ence with When the Saints Go Marching In. The group con sisted of Bill Kenny, piano, Scott McEwen, bass, Eric DeBraal. drums. Lance Jones, tambourine. Jackie Mollahan, trumpet and Jim Ackley, clarinet. This number was the highlight of the evening per formance. The combined seventh and eighth grade band gave their rendition of The Morning After and The King's Trum peteers. As a finale, the combined band and chorus of all grades presented The Battle Hymn of the Republic. The one and one-half hour program was under the direc tion of Jim Ackley and Bill Buckendorf. Choir accompan ists were Pauline Miller, Eugene Cate. Eric DeBraal and Jim Ackley.
