The l!t; District 7-A track
and field meet is scheduled for
Saturday at Condon with
defending champion Heppner
favored to bring home the
team title again.
The district meet is the
culminating event for the
current spring season. First
and second place w inners and
those earning qualifying stan
dards earn a trip to the state
class A to be held at Pleasant
Hill the following weekend,
May 15 16.
Saturday's event is schedul
ed to get underway with
preliminaries in the field
events at 10:30 a m. with
finals at 11:00. Running preli
minaries begin at 11:30 with
the finals slated for 1:30 p m.
Schools participating in
clude Heppner, lone, River
side, Helix, Umapine, Pilot
Rock, Echo, Condon, Uma
tilla, Wasco County, Weston
McEwen and Sherman County.
Heppner trackmen finished
second in a four-way meet in
Peiullcton Monday afternoon.
Final team scores were Pen
dleton 1 27 . Heppner 71.
