CowBelles annual spring lun
cheon, held last week at the
Episcopal Parish Hall. Hepp
ner. Calling beef the "anti infla
tion food" Ms Bradshaw
stated that in spite of low
prices, the beef industry is
here to stay She commended
ranch wives for the part they
play in maintaining the cattle
ranches of Oregon.
Also attending the luncheon
to report on state activities
was Cow Belle State 4-H chair
man. Pat Anderson. Arling
ton Ms Anderson reported
that new information had been
supplied to each Extension

down in County
Figures released by the
secretary of state show a
decline in the total number of
registered votes for Morrow
County.
Registration at the end of
December 1974 showed 1.332
Democrats. 985 Republicans
and 117 under the "other"
heading At the end of
February 1975 the Democrats
lost 4 for a total of 1.328. At the
same time the Republicans
lost 18 while the "other" group
remained at 117. There was a
total loss of 18 voters.
This comes at a time when
the County is show ing growth,
but not in registrations.

be selected from recipes
submitted, from each of the
four Oregon regions to parti
cipate in a cook -off in Portland
on June 7. Winner of the state
cook-off will receive an all
expense paid trip to Denver to
take part in a national cook
off. with a $1,000 first prize.
Rules of the contest are: ,
1. Contestants must be at
least 21 years of age.
2 Contestants may not hold
a professional food status.
3. Recipe must feature beef
cuts from round, rump, or
chuck.
4. Recipe must contain a
minimum of two pounds, but
not more than six pounds of
beef
5. No brand names may be
listed as ingredients.
6. Recipe must include the
number of servings, and cost
per serving
7. Recipe may require up to
four hours preparation time.
8 Recipes for outdoor beef
cookery will not be accepted.
9 Ail recipes become the

long outdoor education class.

Outdoor education provides
for first hand learning exper
ience in the out-of-doors. It is
not a frill to education nor
primarily a recreation pro
gram, it is a means of
enriching regular instruction
rather than a replacement of
formal textbook instruction.
The major portion of the
outdoor education curriculum
deals with science and con
servation. The outdoor setting
also offers learning experi
ences in health. language arts,
arithmetic, social studies and
other phases of the school
curriculum. Students will

because of unexpected pro
