Two lone 4-H groups took the top prizes for youth booths: 1, Merry Mixers 4-H; 2, Gooseberry Livestock. ' Hobbies booths had three win ners: 1, Fair and Rodeo Queen and Court; 2, Lois Win chester; 3, Margaret Ham mons, all Heppner. Morrow County CowBelles look 1st in the farm organiza tion booth competition. The American Legion Auxiliary won in the service organiza tion booth competition. John Edwin Fitzhugtt II. his wife Connie and their infant daughter Theresa Lee stopped at the Heppner Library and Museum Monday to check the Heppner family history. He is the great-grandson of "Storm" Heppner. the grandson of John L. Heppner. and the son of Mrs. Wilma Klizabeth FiUhugtt. This was their first trip to Heppner. "It is larger than we expected." he told Mrs. Justine Weatherford and Mrs. Rachael Harnett as he browsed through the library and museum. The family lives in Ohio, but Lt. Jean Bennett of Heppner, grew the lop vegetable, a per fect cabbage; Ralph Marlatt produced the top fruit, straw berries. The floriculture sweepstak es which combined the blue ribbons won on cut flowers and flower arrangements went to Justine Weather furd. Mrs. Weatherford also won a sweepstakes ribbon for her western theme shadow box. The sweepstakes for a houseplaht went to Florence McMillan. Lexington. Clay tun Ayer's orchid dahlia won the sweepstakes for a single flower. Barbara James' of Heppner entered "Gone Fish ing." was the sweepstakes arrangement. Mrs. Tiny Sweeney has spent a week in a Portland hospital for removal of her spleen. She is due back in Heppner some lime this week end Herman Winter.
