Jones, and Dale Allen lledman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnie Hodman, all of Heppner. The Rev. David Blackaller and the Rev, Dirk Rinehart performed the ceremony at All Saints Episcopal Church, Heppner. Sunday, June 16, at 2 p.m. Two large baskets of del phinium and daisies framed tin" ultar entrance and the pews were adorned with bouquets of daisies tied with blue tx)ws. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a white floor-length gown fash ioned of organza over peau, re-embroidered with Venice lace. The bodice was accented in lace with motifs throughout the gown and styled with high neckline, princess waistline and bishop sleeves. The full skirt was edged with a bottom ruffle. Her mantilla veil of English illusion net and cam elol cap were trimmed in lace LADY ELKS' Elks Club Kitchen Friday, July 12 (&) Starting at 9 a.m., slices of pie and whole pies will be sold. P re-fair Fun Day July 9 All 4-H girls, their leaders and mothers are invited to attend a pre-fair fun day July 9 at Heppner Elementary School. A full afternoon of "girl talk" and modeling training will be provided the girls by Extension Agents Cheri Jo Carter, Kathy Jamieson, Debbie Barker and Kathy West, clothing and knitting judge. A number of local clothing leaders will also assist with the training. Girls should plan to be on hand to register from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. Mothers and friends are invited to come to the elementary school at 2:30p.m. to see a style revue by members and enjoy a tea served by the foods clubs led by Pat Pettyjohn, June Lind strom, Gladys Hobbs and Leann Rea. Gilliam County 4-H girls have been invited to attend the training, according to Birdine Tullis, extension program as sistant. As a special added attraction the style show will be video taped and the girls will be able to view them selves on TV as models. The training is planned to help the girls and get them in the mood for fair events. EASTERN STAR TO INSTALL Ruth Chapter of the Eastern Star will hold its. installation at 2 p.m., July 7, at the Heppner Masonic Temple. Monday morning children's story hour will skip the Monday following the 4th, July 8, and will resume its regular schedule of stories at 10 a.m. on Mondays the rest of July and August. Mrs. Harnett has opened the museum on Thursday even ings the last two weeks especially to accommodate enrollees from the Tupper Youth Camp who come into Heppner on Thursdays. Some Heppner residents who have not visited the museum on its Saturday and Sunday schedule have found the Thursday evening opening convenient. Mrs. Harnett will not open the museum this Thursday, as it is understood that the Tupper youth are taking a field trip and will not be in Heppner however, she is considering Thursday eve ning openings again beginning July 11. Program for older 4-Hers , Two Morrow County 4-H members have been selected to serve at Oregon State Fair this year in a new program allowing older 4-H members to serve as teen staff, according to Birdine Tullis, extension program assistant. Anita Davidson, Lexington, and Christine Evans, Hepp ner, will go to Salem to assist with fair events Aug. 30 through Sept 1. Both girls have participated in 4-H contests at the state fair in the past. Members must make ap plication through the County Extension Office to be con sidered for the events. Any older member interested in participating as teen staff this year should call the extension office immediately for ap plication forms. SI MMER READING J'OR DLDJEK KIDS The library now has reading . folders ready for "older" children those too big for the Monday story hours. Anyone in the 9 to 13 age group is invited to come in and get a reading record and "doodle book" from the li brarian: and to talk to her about these booklets made possible by the county exten sion office. GYM OPEN FOR WEIGHT CONTROL The Heppner High School gym will be open to the public Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. for weight w!orkout and conditioning, starting July 11.
