Don Cole, principal of Heppner Elementary School, is making a plea to all parents of children who will be kindergarten age next Sep tember and have not yet been in contact with the school about having their child visit the kindergarten this spring, to contact him immediately. The school has already contacted a majority of the parents with kindergarten age children. Because new people are moving into the area, and the school may not have the names of these people, it is necessary for these people to contact the school at 676-9128. During this week children who will enter kindergarten next year have been visiting kindergarten classes to find out what is in store for them next fall. The visits are encouraged to help children overcome fears they might have about kindergarten, Cole stated, and to let them see that they will enjoy their kinder garten experience. Because there will be so many children entering kin dergarten next fall, visitations have been on a scheduled - yrrr z -"tj--, , basis with five or six children visiting at one time. Friday and next Tuesday have been set aside as visitation days for children who have not been contacted by the school. Cole said that it is necessary that parents of these children contact him to find out what time, on those days, their children can visit the kinder garten. Class times are from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Parents are asked to come with their children for the visitation although they do not have to stay with the child with full two hours. While wood products do not cause pollution the City of Heppner dump does. It is shown above in full bloom this week. The black smoke is from liiirning automobile tires.
