Nousen of Cottage Grove, Ore. Nousen 's bid of approxi mately $38,000 was about $8,000 over the amount plan ned on by the council. Mayor Bob Drake said the bid was accepted by the council "with deletions." He noted that the contract has the stipulation that the city may delete portions of construction to cut down on the costs which are over the budgeted amount. Drake said a tentative deletion would be a 6-inch wa ter line "up the hill" in lone. The agreement was finally reached after much consider ation by the council and City Engineer Steve Anderson. It was necessary to do this in a hurried fashion due a time limit set on the bid's approval, Drake said. The contaract, complete with deletions, has yet to be signed by Nousen. The contest will consist of five classes of livestock, two classes of meats and one class of hay. A tractor driving contest will be held at the same time. Trophies will be given for both high individuals in the senior, junior, and intermediate divisions of the livestock judging and tractor contest. Livestock for this event is being furnished by Dick Sar gent, Gary Grieb and Don Robinson. Don Evans will furnish the tractor for the tractor driving contest. All 4-Hers are invited to participate.
