Mrs. Jiggs Bowman and

land Friday afternoon to see
Mr. Bowman, who has been
undergoing tests at Emanuel
Hospital. He has been re
leased from the hospital but
has to remain in Portland and
is at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Bowman.

in The Dalles Saturday were

Canaan of Vancouver, Wn.,
were weekend guests of their
son, Marvin Lucas, and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Denzil White
were in The Dalles Saturday
on business.
Mrs. Carlo Wrarming spent
Tuesday in The Dalles on
business.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Cory and
daughter Dawn went to Bend
Sunday to meet their son, Sgt.
Patrick D. Cory, who is home
on Christmas leave from his
base at Yuma, Ariz.
The Kinzua Community
Church Sunday School pre
sented its annual Christmas
program Sunday evening to a
full house. The various classes
sang, recited poems and put
on a short play with the church
choir singing between scenes.
At the close of the evening,
carols were sung by the
congregation while sacks of
goodies were passed out.
The Doubledeck Card Club
held its regular meeting
Friday with Marilyn Bailey as
hostess at her home. High was
won by Virginia Sitton, with
second high going to Naomi
Rice. Pinochles were won by
Betty Saddler and Irene
Samples. Others playing were
Vi Slinkard, Bonnie Campbell
and Virginia Kelso. At the
close of the evening's play a
gift exchange was held.
Lexington
A group met at the Erda
Pieper home last week and
spent the afternoon sacking
goodies for the Sunday School
Christmas treats. Those pres
ent to help Mr. Morey and
Mrs. Pieper were Florence
McMillan and Mr. and Mrs.
T.E. Messenger Sr.
The Lexington Bridge Club
met at the home of Lorine
Ledbetter last week for Us
regular meeting. Present
wrre Juanlta Carmichael,
Eileen Padberg, Lois Hunt,
Mildred Davidson, Karen
Thompson, Lota Tibbies, Elsie
Cox and the hostess. Mrs.
Padberg won high and Mrs.
Cox, second.
Mrs. Henry M. Breeding
and children of Gresham
spent several days last week
at the C.C. Jones Ranch. While
here she visited her mother-in-law,
Lola Breeding, who is
a patient in the Good Shepherd
Hospital in Hermiston; her
mother, Lydia Wilson of
Lexington, and other relatives
and friends in Heppner.
Mrs. Alvin Vinson is caring
for the Mike Palmer children
while Mrs. Palmer is em
ployed at Columbia Basin
Electric in Heppner.

Memorial in Pendleton. At
