Although Iraguc play for both Heppner and lone dors not begin until Jan. 4. the Mustang! and the Cards will get things underway Friday night. The lone Cardinals will host the Stanfii'ld Indians; the Mustangs host Wallowa. Game time is 8 p.m. for both gumes. Following their opener, the Mustangs will host the Car dinals at the Heppner Gym imsium in their traditional rivalry game. Following Sat urday night's game the two teams will clash again Dec. 18, when the Cards host the Mustangs. This will be the only two games between the Mustangs and the Cards, as they are In different leagues. The Mustangs play In the Columbia Basin League and the Cards in the Big Sky Conference. There have been a few changes in the schedules since they were printed. There will not be the usual Christmas Tourney, Dec. 14-15, but the Mustangs will play Condon there, Dec. 14. The JVs will prelim the event at 6:30 p.m., with the varsity taking the court at 8 p.m. Another change reported is the game between the Mus tangs and the Frosh of Blue Mountain Community College, Dec. 27. The Mustangs will host the event; game time is 8 p.m. The Tri State chapter of the Girls Rodeo Association re cently held its awards banquet in Portland. Two former Heppner girls, Becky and Ruby Kulieton, placed 4th and 5th, respec tively, in barrel racing rodeo events. Becky was awarded a silver buckle, high point permit holder, horse blanket, two saddle blankets, cowgirl hat and a pair of boots. She is presently attending California State University, Fresno, Ca., where she is a member of the rodeo team. Ruby Fulleton was pre sented a horse blanket, saddle blanket, cowgirl hat and other miscellaneous items. Ruby competed in various rodeos throughout Texas, Lou- isiana, Arizona, California and I'lah, while Becky com peted in Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, Montana and Cal gary. Alberta, Canada. HAMBl RGER FEED WILL BENEFIT DANCE GROl'P Heppner High School's dance team, the Goldtrotters, is sponsoring a Hamburger Feed Saturday, Dec. 8. before the Heppner-Ione basketball game, at the high school catetorium. Hamburgers or cheesebur ers with all the fixings, potato salad, baked beans, potato chips, coffee and punch will be served from 5-7 p.m. Adults will be charged $2 a plate and children 12 and under $1. IIIM.RII.LY C HRISTMAS NOW l REHEARSAL Rehearsals are in progress for "A Hillbilly Christmas Carol," which will be pre sented in the lone High School cafetorium, Dec. 10-11, 8 p m. The English and speech classes of lone High School are cooperating in sponsoring this comedy production.
