Ill ITM K IOHF..I Riuerside High dumps Prairie Ciffy, 12-8 lone crushes Cascade lochs in a 60-32 scoring spree The lone Cardinals scored a TD on the second play of the game and went on to defeat Cascade Locks 60-32 in the Big Sky Conference, Friday at Cascade Locks. The Cardinals led the Pi rates in passing, 6 for 6. The Pirates completed 7 out of 18. The Pirates dominated the rushing with a total of 351 yards to the Cards 266. In the first quarter, penal ties held the Cardinals to one touchdown. Aaron Klinger scored on a 66 yard run with Phil Carlson completing the 2 point run. lone rallied in the second quarter to score 28 points, when Aaron Klinger ran 61 yards for 6 points and team mate Carlson ran for the 2. Cascade Locks quickly got the ball but fumbled. Carlson recovered and ran 43 yards for the Cards' third touchdown. Klinger ran the conversion. The Cards then went to the air and scored another TD when Tod Peterson threw a 20 yard pass to Joel Peterson. Fighting back, the Pirates finally got on the scoreboard on a 1 yard touchdown play. Wetherell was very pleased with the performance of his team especially with the defensive and offensive linebackers. Ranchers feed the wildlife Predator did their bit toward increasing the meat shortage In the period from July IS through Aug. 11 by taking a total of 286 domestic animals and 175 fowl for their own dining. Greatest losses were in sheep and lambs with preda tors taking 49 sheep and 234 lambs. The depredation report given the Oregon Department of Agriculture by the Division of Wildlife Service. Oretton Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife, showed Wheeler the only one of the 26 Oregon counties reporting that did not lose either sheep or lambs or both to predators. The county with greatest loss in sheep and lambs was Linn, with five sheep and 48 lambs. Topping the fowl losses to predators were chickens with a total of 80 and geese came in second. Forty-three geese went for predator dining and all but 12 of them were from Jackson County farms. The 12 were from Washington Coun ty. The chicken losses were scattered among nine counties with Benton County's loss of 20 chickens the greatest. Twenty-three turkeys were taken by predators. Other losses in fowl included eight ducks, seven guniea hens, and 15 peacocks. The peacocks were all on Crook County. Miscellaneous predator damage reported during the Julv 15-Aug. 11 period includ ed porcupine damage in Jackson County to one prune tree and 12 pear trees; raccoon and opossum damage to sweet corn in Linn County and in Marion County, dam age to a fish trip by blue heron and the destroying by fox of pheasants being raised com mercially for a game.com "pany. The purpose of this meeting will be to provide background information on past activities of the committee and to inform committee members on current and proposed growth activities in Morrow County. In this connection, repre sentatives of those companies whose activities are likely to increase the population of Morrow County, have been invited to attend the meeting and speak on their proposed activities and the effect their expansion could have on the school district. Several companies have indicated they will have rep resentatives present.
