Rev. and Mrs. Bill Arthur spent the afternoon of Aug. 6 visiting Mrs. Arthur's sinter, Mrs. James Cochran, and family, and her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Leffel of Sun City, Ca. Mr. and Mrs. Leffel arrived at the Arthur's home Thursday to spend a week then will leave for a trip to Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Adon Hamlett ond Tom drove to Portland Aug. 3 to pick up their daughter, Sharlene, and then spent the weekend at Brook ings visiting Mr. Hamlctt's aunt, Mrs. Charles Rooker. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Martin Bpcnt Aug. 2-6 visiting relatives in the Willamette Valley. They spent some time with their son, Ralph Martin, at Lake Oswego, and was joined there by Mr. and Mrs. Al Brazell and children from Castle Rock, Wn. They visited Mrs. Martin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Morton at Dallas. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Morton of Roseburg. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nelson and Jill went to the Tri-Cities Aug. 4 5 to attend Mrs. Nelson's 10-year class reunion. She graduated from Kennewick Migh School, and the reunion was held in Richland. Kenneth Smouse flew to Whittier, Ca., last weekend to attend memorial services for Paul G. Smouse. Returning to lone with him to attend the' graveside services were Mrs. Paul G. Smouse, and son, Paul Robert, Los Angeles, Mrs. Paul Smouse's cousin, Mrs. Ralph Niedererlker of Dow ney, Ca. Idaho, spent several days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Crabtree of Cecil. They returned on Aug. 7, taking her daughter, Alisa, home with her. A small cream colored dog with grey tip ears and muzzle, with long poodle type hair has showed up at the Kenneth Smouse Ranch. They would appreciate the owner picking it up. Mr. Jim Morgan and daugh ters, Debbie and Vickie, Shelton, Wn., spent a week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Ellis and Mrs. Ida Grabill. Mrs. Lena Paine of Cascade Locks and Mrs. Keith Funk of Portland spent Aug. 6 visiting Mrs. Helen Guiterrez. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lind strom attended a family gathering at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Crutcher at Beaverton, Aug. 5. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Helena of Seattle; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Mortonson of Palm Springs, Ca.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Von Borstell and sons. Reed and Robert, Ed monson, Canada; Mrs. Floy Von Brostell of Grass Valley; Kennth Crutcher, LeAnn and Ronnie. Gresham; and Mrs. Beulah Lundell of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Drake and family of Fairfield, Ca., are visiting at the home of his mother. Mrs. Gladvs Drake. Miss Christina Lindstrom arrived at Oakland airport Aug. 5 and was met by her sister, Susan Lindstrom. Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Lind strom. On Tuesday before coming home she registered at Pacific Lutheran Univer sity. Tacoma. for the fall term Mr. Lewis Halversen took the Rainbow Girls to the river Tuesday for their annual outing. Girls attending were Sherl Wilson. Cindy Martin. Tammie Tucker. Christie Ed monson, Jan Ekstrom, Itenna Flock and Arline Cannon. They were Joined later by Christina Lindstrom and Mrs. Roy W. Lindstrom. Guests were Kimmy Pettyjohn, Lisa Martin. Donna and Darcy Rea. They returned home Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Halver son and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Palmer were guest of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Munkers and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vierson for dinner at Hat Rock Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Halver sen, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Prock and family and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Halversen, Donna and Darcy Rea. spent Sunday at Hat Rock. Alisa and Anlie Halvlersen returned home with their grandparents for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Crabtree, Kevin and Jim McCabe, of Cecil spent the weekend fishing at Bull Prairie. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel James and family of Turner are spending a few days taking care of their house. They are staying at the home of Mrs. Mary Dobbs. Mrs. Royce Hollaway of Albany and granddaughter, Melene Martin of Othello, Wri.. were luncheon guests at the FT. Martin home last Wednesday. Melene remained for a longer visit with her paternal grandparents. The Garland Swanson fam ily and Akira Kameyama enjoyed a day at the river water skiing and picnicing after finishing harvest Phoo. 676 VI58 Irrirjon cog revenue funds By KHANCKS ROSE WILSON Mayor Chester Wilson an nounced that the city of Irrigon had received it's quarterly allotment of reve nue sharing funds recently in the amount of S243 for the second quarter of 1973. This brings the city's total, including interest, to 11364 received since the program started in 1972. No revenue sharing monies have been spent by the city to date, but those received through June of 1974 have been budgeted for obtaining additional water storage and pumping facilities, according to Wilson. This report is being advertised. Fifty boys and girls were enrolled at the vacation Bible School held at the Assembly of God. Aug. 6-10. Enthusiam ran high in the balloon contest between boys and girls. The boys won and each one received a candy bar. The V.B.S. concluded with a picnic on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. John Brandt and family vacationed at Grand Coulee Dam and There were three tables of pinochle in play at the card party held tuesday of last week at the Greenfield Grange Hall, sponsored by the Wom en's Activity Committee of the grange. Mrs. Roy Ball wos hostess. High prize was won by Mrs. Ed Kuhn and second high went to Grace Keith, Irrigon. Mrs. Kuhn and Mrs. Keith also received the traveling pinoch le prizes. Those attending the annual West reunion at Gearhart all last week from Boardman included Mr. and Mrs. Dewey West Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Donovan and children Jerry, Jack and-CaroHAnn, Susan Ball and Mrs. Frank Bates and daughter, Shauna. There were 25 present. Others in cluded Mr. and Mrs. Dewey West of Woodburn, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Russell and daugh ter Dalene of The Dalles, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Wetherell and Mrs. Sam Beeks of Arlington. Mrs. Beeks again out-finished all the men this year by catching two salmon weighing almost 30 pounds each in one day, and went out the second day and caught her limit of salmon. She caught the larg est fish last year. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bates and children, Stacie, Robert, and Kristin, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bates and daughter, Shauna, all went to Van couver, Wn., over the weekend to attend the Bates family reunion. The affair was held at the home of the men's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Blalock, with about 50 present. Wekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Broadbent were Broadbent's mother and sisiter, Mrs. J.H. Broadbent and Myrna Nelson and daughter, Lori, of Weiser, Idaho. Winners in the boy's cham pionship contest at Willow Run Golf Club Saturday and Sunday playing 54 holes were: Don Harper, first; Gayle tHsBSr-sesend; Jim- Gr-afaata- Jr third. She was called to Oklahoma due to the illness of her mother, Elnorah Aborgast. She traveled with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Whitacreof Scapoose. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Isom and Mr. and Mrs. Don Eppenbach attended the wedding of Mrs. Isom's niece. Barbara, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Leach, in Drain on Aug. 4. They took a side trip on their return and visited the En chanted Forest, a vacation spot between Eugene and Salem. Jim Wilson of Hermiston and daughter Randi Rene were dinner guests Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wilson. George Duncan, low gross professional. They were all guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reid. Mr. and Mrs. Ariel Camp bell and Andrea went to Bend Saturday to visit relatives.
