Anderson of The Dalles, a son, Don, of Arling ton; a sister, Minnie Reed of Walla Walla; and two grand children, Tami and Brad Anderson. ' The 29-man South squad will headquarter at Concordia College in the northeast sec lion of Portland, while the North will bed down and practice at Lewis and Clark College. Each squad will have al least 10 days of twice-a-day drills in preparation for the contest. The rival coaches-Dave Powell of South Eugene (South) and Don .McCarty of Centennial High (North) have advised their respective athletes to report "ready for immediate action because we don't have time for you to play your way into condition." Souih's squad features play ers from schools that are more removed from the Portland metropolitan area, and the series currently stands at 13 wins for the South, 10 for the By MARIE McQUARRIE Members of Willow Run Golf Course of Boardman provided an enjoyable day for 20 Willow Creek, golfers who went to the south end of the county Sunday. Coffee and doughnuts were served on our arrival. A "shot-gun" start was used for the men's teeing-off, which expedited play considerably. Plans for the day and play were very well organized and copies of the way the day was to be run were given to all participants, which also in cluded how prizes were to be awarded. Ron Daniels, a member of Willow Run and also Willow Creek, probably had some influence in this aspect, as he is accustomed to making schedules. There was a change in prize awarding, as both clubs com pel ed against each other, rather than each club playing against its oWn members. There were also awards for team foursomes against other team foursomes. Golf ball awards won by Willow Creek women were 2nd low gross, Vi Lanham ; 3rd low gross, Bev Gunderson; low net, Marie McQuarrie; long drive, Bev Gunderson. For the men, there was a tie for 1st low gross between Lowell "It's bard to compete with Condon Elks Lodge and a life member of the Oregon Wheat League. Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist Church in Arlington with the Rev. James L. Wilson and Rev. Luther E. Sturtevant officiating. Concluding ser vices were held at the Arlington Cemetery where vault interment was made. Casket bearers were R. J. Philippi, Lloyd Bartlemay, Clark VanGaasbeck, Virgil Woelpern and Robert and Walter Hulden. Smith Callaway Chapel were the funeral directors. s North and two ties. South was a 33 to 7 winner a year ago. The South's head man, Powell, will be assisted in the coaching chores by Gary Olson of Bend and Chuck Solberg of Corvallis, while McCarty will be assisted in North's preparations by Darrel Davis of Hillsboro and Stan Stanton of Wilson High (Portland). The game, often called "football's finest hour," has netted over $500,000 for the Shriners' Hospital for Crip pled Children since its inception. The 8 p.m. kickoff will be preceded by an hour of pageantry, featuring march ing units and bands,,, .Mail orders for $4 reserved seats are being accepted now at game headquarters, 1119 S.W. Park Ave., Portland. General admission seats in the left field bleachers at $3 will go on sale at Stevens & Son jewelers in Portland, in late July. They will also have reserved seats there. General admission seats at $2 will be sold on the day of the game. 3verHT:2 Tea Ccrp Gribble and Frances Doherty. Low net awards all went to Willow Run. 1st team low gross was won by the four some including Frances Doherty and Clinton McQuar rie. 2nd team, low gross went to the group including Cliff Harris and Bob Jepsen. The Boardman Tillicum Club served a buffet dinner. Thanks, Willow Run, for showing us such a delightful day. Men's Wednesday evening play at Willow Creek Country Club was well attended. Dave Harrison won low gross and Clinton McQuarrie, low net. This coming Sunday, July 29, is our day to entertain Condon and Kinzuas' Golf Clubs. The plans for same are practically completed. Coffee and doughnuts at 8:30 a.m. and T-off for the men at 9 o'clock. The women will be sandwiched in between for their nine holes.
