Their chaperon. Mrs Boh Peterson, was also a guest Present were Queen Jeanne Daly and Mrs Charlie Daly; Princesses Patricia Hughes and Mrs Allen Hughes. Kathy Gilhert and Mrs Bob Mont gomery. Sherry Kemp and Biilie Kemp. Kathy Bartlett and Mrs. Joe Bartlett. A cake in the shape of a horseshoe, baked by Mrs. Jerry Peck was served. The committee in charge was Mrs Carrol Donovan, Mrs IM Docken. Mrs. Dewey West Jr.. Mrs. Pete Peterson and Mrs. Rupert Kennedy. After the luncheon the group went swimming at the Bartlett home. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baker and daughters. Karen and Kristie. and Mrs. Roy Partlow and daughter. Joan, have returned home from a 10-day vacation trip to Cali fornia and other points. They went first to Klamath Falls to visit the Baker's son Ron, who is employed there for the summer. From there they went to San Francisco and visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Malon. then to Los Angeles to visit Baker "s cousins. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Becker. They also visited the San Diego Zoo. Disneyland. Ma nneland. Knott's Berry Farm and the Queen Mary. Baker flew home from there and the rest of the group went on to Scottsdale, Ariz., and visited at the home of Mrs. Baker's uncle and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heald. They then went to the Grand Canyon. Bryce Canyon, and Salt Lake City where they attended the Sunday morning TV broadcast of the Morman Tabernacle choir. They also attended the International Square Dance Jamboree at the Salt Palace at w hich there were 17.000 people. On their way home they stopped in Boise and visited at the home of Ann Fisher, and in La Grande had lunch with Mrs. Baker's sister, Mrs. Vern Carpenter. There were three tables of pinochle in play at the card party last week at the Green field Grange hall, sponsored by the Women's Activity Committee of the grange. Mrs. Frank Mariow was hostess. High prize was won by Grace Keith of Irrigon, and second high went to Mrs. Arthur Allen. Mrs. Keith and Goldie Woelpern of Arlington received the traveling pi nochle prizes. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bates and children, Stacie, Robert and Kristin, went to Seattle over the weekend to take Mrs. Steve Highley and sons. Matt and Micheal. to the plane to go to Sitka. Alaska, where High lev is employed. The Bates' then went to Tacoma to visit at the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bates, and come by way of Portland and visited Bates' brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Gilbert son. Heather Herauf of Bend has been visiting for two weeks at the home of her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nelson. Vickie. Renee and Mark Califf have returned to their home in Estacada after visit ing their grandmother. Mrs. Ralph Earwood. and their aunts. Shirley Earwood and Mrs. Don Downey. Mrs. George Sicard is a patient in St. Anthony's Hos pital in Pendleton, and Adolf Skoubo is in the Good Shep herd Hospital in Hermiston. Word has been received that Elvin Ely of Pendleton, form er resident here, is in the Pendleton Community Hos pital having suffered a heart attack at his home. He is reported improved. Mrs. Frank Mariow spent July 4 and the rest of the week at the home of her sister, Mrs. Clarence Thomas, Pendleton. Senior citizen speaker topic A no-host luncheon will be held July 17, noon, at Cal's Restaurant in honor of Marion E. Cady, field representative, Program on Aging for the State of Oregon. Special invitations to attend are being issued to representa tives from the Chamber of Commerce, Soroptiir.ists, members of the County Court and a few senior citizens. Reservations may be made with Pat Brindle at the Heppner Neighborhood Center not later than Friday, July 13, 676-5873. Cady will be reviewing fund ing operations for senior citi zen programs. II. Elmer Ladd. lone rancher, and other family members and told a little of her hopes for the coming year. Many who were not officers assisted with this public occa sion, including three Ladd children. Gladys Connor, Mildred Connor and June O'Connor were in charge of arrangements. Members and guests were from Heppner. lone, Lexington and cities in nearby counties. Ruth Chapter was first chartered in 1895. It functioned under the charter until last month when it was consolidated with Locust Chapter No. 119, chartered at lone in 1915. W ash., at a 2 p.m. ceremony June 23 at the Boaidman Community Church The double ring service was preformed by Pastor Neil King liefore an altar decorated with two large Itoquets of yellow roses and white daisies. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Witters of Board man and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. U-e Edwards of Oi.alaska. IVmse Heckle of Boardman played the nuptial music. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a floor -length gown of white silk organza over satin with embro idered daisies. It was fashioned with a scoop neckline, empire waist and leg-of-mutton sleeves. Her fingertip veil of illusion net was held in place with a tiara. She carried a bouquet of white daisies with a cascade. Fran Witters of Pendleton was her sister's maid of honor, and wore a floor-length gown of print organza over green with daisies and butterflies. Brides maids were Dehra Hug and Martha King of Boardman and Debbie Hickey of Kennewick. Wash. They wore identical gowns of print organza over yellow with daisies and butter flies, fashioned with scoop neckline, puffed sleeves and empire waist. They carried nosegays of yellow and white daisies and had daisies in their hair. Patty Sue Flint, niece of the bride, was flower girl and Randy King was ring bearer. Patty wore a dress identical with the maid of honor. The bride's gown and those of the attendants were made by the bride's mother. Jerry McMahan of Mossy Rock. Wash., brother-in-law of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Don Harper of Boardman, Eugene Risley of Boardman. and Ollie Penfield of Chehalis. Wash. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Fellowship Room at the church. The three-tiered cake, decor ated with yellow daisies and topped with three white bells, was cut and served by Carolyn Svatonsky of Kennewick. Wash., sister of the bride. The Rroom's mother wore a street-length dress of blue crepe with cowl collar, and blue law puffed sleeves. Both had corsages of yellow roses and white carna tions. The bride is a 1973 graduate of Riverside High School and the groom is a graduate of Onalaska High School. After a trip to the Oregon coast and Northern California the couple is living in Chehalis, Wash., where the groom is employed by Moduline Industries.
