Hospital News
Lorrie Sherrod. ten year old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Turner, had an appendectomy
at Good Shepherd Hospital last
week. She has returned home.
Adolf Skouho is seriously ill in
Good Shepherd Hospital. He is
not allowed visitors.
Surgery
Mrs Harold Rash is recuper
ating at Emanuel Hospital in
Portland after having her
second hip surgery last week.

tablishment opened in a limited
manner Sunday. The Grand
opening is scheduled for Satur
day. June 15.
The combination Cafe-melon
stand will handle fresh produce
of all kinds, inseesou.as w ell as
featuring drive-in service.
The owners are Ted and Mary
Wilson, who came to Irrigon 2
years ago from The Dalles. The
business will be operated by
them with the assistance of
their son Sieve. A number of
local young people will find
employment during vacation as
attendants and waitresses as
the melon season reaches it's
peak

The business is housed in a 32

home court with overnight
facilities to be known as " The
Park". The major part of Un
building has been done b the
Wilson family, with the excep
tion of block laying, electrical
wiring and plumbing, which
were contracted. Wilson has
many years of building experi
ence and constructed a home
for themselves, prior to their
moving here.
A second son. Mike, present l
stationed in Spain with the Air
Force, has an interest in the
business and expects to assist in

were in charge of the Snack
Shack, at the Fair grounds in
Hoppner.

Livestock Show at The Dalles.
The U. S. Army Engineers recently completed a
review of the Willow Creek Lake multiple-purpose
project that was authorized for construction by
Congress in 1965.
The Corps is conducting studies that will result
in a design report to be used as the basis for construc
tion plans. This report is scheduled for completion
later this year.
Colonel Richard M. Connell District Engineer,
said, "To insure that our studies reflect the desires
of the citizens affected by flood and water problems
in the Heppner area, we are holding this meeting so
you can present your views on the project. We are
also interested in discussing ecological and environ
mental factors associated with our study."
